About this deal

Read all In the summer of 2016, Jeff Beck celebrated 50 years of his musical career with a special concert at the famous Hollywood Bowl. In June 2010, Beck paid fitting tribute to his mentor, the great Les Paul, celebrating what would have been the pioneering guitarist’s 95th birthday, by playing his friend’s music, along with classic tunes from the era, in the same Times Square nightclub that Paul played every Monday for 14 years before his death in August 2009.

Beck’s first instrumental, “Beck’s Bolero,” a song credited to Jimmy Page and recorded in the studio with Page, Keith Moon, John Paul Jones and Nicky Hopkins, along with “Rice Pudding” and “Morning Dew” (with Hall) from the first two Jeff Beck Group albums recorded with Rod Stewart, follow in quick succession. Their two albums - “Truth” (1968) and “Beck-Ola” (1969) – would become musical touchstones for hard rockers in the years to come. The setlist reached back to his first recordings with The Yardbirds in 1966 and came right up to date with tracks from his most recent album "Loud Hailer. Beck-Ola did not enter the Gaon Album Chart, but it peaked at number 33 on the component overseas album chart in 2014.

Blow by Blow did not enter the Gaon Album Chart, but it peaked at number 30 on the component overseas album chart in 2010. S.” Bonds, and Trombone Shorty; he was to perform again with Imelda May on The Tonight Show in 2011. Over the last few years he has performed alongside singers Kelly Clarkson and Joss Stone on the most-watched U. The night, the Blu-ray, the DVD and the CD all end with a spirited version of Prince’s “Purple Rain,” with Hart out in front and Tyler, Bones and Hall singing the backups.

Live+ did not enter the Gaon Album Chart, but it peaked at number 39 on the component overseas album chart in 2015. At least I’ll be gettin to see McLaughlin in less than a month with the great Jimmy Herring opening and doing a 3rd set of all Mahavishnu stuff with John. Of course, these were Jeff Beck‘s followers, many of whom had seen him live throughout the various phases of his classic rock career, from the Yardbirds to the days of the Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart, out on the Jan Hammer Highway and into the future with Beck’s 2016 album, Loud Hailer. It was Great to see my Friend again, still playing and experimenting, and Collaborating, sharing his night with us. What appealed to me was the idea of bringing together these seemingly incongruous styles on different kinds of nonclassical music. He released numerous studio, live, compilation, video and soundtrack albums during his career, as well as over twenty singles. You Never Know,” “Cause We’ve Ended As Lovers,” “Blue Wind” and “Star Cycle” help fill in the guitarist’s most innovative period. Some in the crowd perked up when Steven Tyler pranced out, and it was, as Spock used to say, only logical that he did a version of Tiny Bradshaw’s “Train Kept a-Rollin’,” a song covered by both the Yardbirds and Aerosmith. ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons joins Beck for “Rough Boy,” and then singer Steven Tyler shows up for “Train Kept A Rollin’,” a song both the Yardbirds and Aerosmith famously covered. At one point duringtheir performance of “Blue Wind,” Beck pointed playfully toward Hammer, who took the cue and revved up the synth.

The show opens with “The Revolution Will Be Televised,” a somewhat uncharacteristic track from the guitarist’s 2016 release, Loud Hailer, featuring singer Rosie Bones brandishing a megaphone and brazenly walking the runway that separates the pool circle from the rest of the Bowl’s seating areas. A triumphant 2009 brought many highlights including a sold-out world tour; Beck’s second induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; the release of the platinum-selling Performing This Week… Live at Ronnie Scott’s, which earned a Grammy nomination for “A Day In The Life”; and magnificent performances with his band at the 25th Anniversary Concert of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at Madison Square Garden. In an exciting recent development, Beck’s eye for new talent has brought him together in collaboration with New Orleans jazz-sensation Trombone Shorty, combining their talents for a roof-raising performance at the city’s 2010 Jazz Festival and on a track featured on Shorty’s 2011 album For True. The August 10, 2016 concert was billed as a career retrospective (“50 Years of Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy and Special Guests”) and for almost three hours, if you count Guy’s 45-minute cooker of an opening set, the potentially jaded Hollywood Bowl crowd was treated to a jaw-dropping display of deep blues, hot licks and dive-bombing Stratocaster forays into the ionosphere of rock.Beck grew up in Wallington, England and between his mother’s piano playing and the family radio tuned to everything from dance to classical; he was surrounded by music from a young age. Beck, who is about to release a new album, will take his new band on the road for the Jeff Beck World Tour 2014 in April. html" title="Jeff Beck Setlist Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles, CA, USA 2016, 50 Years Of Jeff Beck" target="_blank">
