About this deal

It’s curious that the existence of the grading was allowed to be out in the open – presumably with an eye on a 2019 release – and then nothing happened. It's big and loaded with rich people who really have nothing to complain about until God gives them a rude awakening. Now then, today’s great announcement news is that The Criterion Collection has just officially unveiled their June Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD release slate. And we expect the Star Trek: The Next Generation feature films— Generations, First Contact, Insurrection, and Nemesis—to be released on 4K Ultra HD on or around 9/5/23 (aka Star Trek Day).

We had a great time and the conversation was pretty interesting, so feel free to check that out here. We’re thrilled to be bringing our unique blend of cult and classic cinema to audiences in the US and Canada in partnership with the fantastic team at Distribution Solutions,” says Powerhouse Films’ co-founder, Sam Dunn.Studio description: James Cameron's "Titanic" is an epic, action-packed romance set against the ill-fated maiden voyage of the R. As things stand, amongst the work of James Cameron, even Piranha II now has a decent Blu-ray release, courtesy of Shout Factory in America.

When an American nuclear submarine crashes, the United States Government believe the Russians to be responsible. And Stephen has delivered his in-depth take on AGFA and Something Weird Video’s nine-film, three-disc The Films of Doris Wishman: The Moonlight Years Blu-ray box set, distributed by Vinegar Syndrome. Such a shame 4K UHD's are hit or miss these day's look at what just happened to WB's The Exorcist 4K UHD the exorcism scene had moments where the picture quality dropped into DVD quality bit rate drops colour bleeding over use of HDR also DNR added to these scenes. He went for indirect lighting and he got everybody doing things that were not just outside their comfort zone, they'd never even thought of it. The Abyss, released in 1989, is a science fiction film written and directed by James Cameron that stars Ed Harris, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and Michael Biehn.

So the good news is that it seems that The Abyss is finally coming to 4K Ultra HD and likely Blu-ray Disc as well early next year. Thus, it’s entirely likely that Avatar will get a reissue when the first of the many sequels arrives (currently scheduled for the end of next year).

Please keep in mind that TBA titles and dates are ESTIMATES based on best-available information from sources and are NOT to be considered official until the studios in question make their respective announcements. Thus far, when it does 4K reissues, it tends to be around dates for sequels and remakes to and of existing movies (the animated film of Mulan, for instance, is getting a 4K release this year to tie in with the new live action movie). All right, we’ve got a bunch of ground to cover today, and the subject for today’s My Two Cents post is what we’re hearing from our industry and retail sources about forthcoming 4K Ultra HD catalog titles expected in the new year.I also posted my review of the John Krasinski TV actioner Jack Ryan: Season One in 4K Ultra HD from Paramount. First things first today: The Criterion Collection has just announced their April Blu-ray and 4K release slate and—as always—it’s another great list of titles. True Lies and The Abyss remain two of the most high profile films of the last few decades to still not have a Blu-ray release. Our sources are telling us to expect the latter, with Cameron’s original Avatar (2009) being a more likely 2022 4K UHD release in the run-up to the sequel’s December theatrical release.
