About this deal

One of those spikes finds its way into Percy’s shoulder. While he slowly succumbs to the poison, he gets the pleasure of hearing Thorn gloat about the Great Stirring, a massive uprising of deadly monsters. There’s even one powerful enough to bring down Olympus itself. It never fails to impress me how the author can intricately put everything into these books. I never feel bored and I love the view he takes on different mythology stories. After reading this book I'll never look at Hercules the same. One of my biggest enjoyments is seeing different American landmarks mentioned in the story, and seeing their odd connection to the Greek myths. You can tell the books are going to take a bit of a darker turn. It makes sense since they all are getting older and the inevitable prophecy is looming over. The dream convinces Percy that Annabeth is alive but in grave danger. He wants to leave camp to find her, but to do that he’ll need a quest. He gets one in the weirdest way possible. He’s arguing with Thalia over whose fault it was they lost capture the flag to the Hunters (obviously, Thalia was to blame), when the desiccated mummy that houses the Oracle of Delphi strolls into the clearing and spouts a prophecy amid a cloud of green smoke. To be honest, the whole thing about saving mission is pretty cliché. In the first book, Percy saved her mom, in the second book, Percy saved Grover and in this book, Percy saved Annabeth and it's pretty cliché, you know. now I'm wondering what will happen in the fourth book? I'm hoping it won't be like this anymore. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy this book, I did enjoy this book but I just got a little bit bored with this whole saving mission. I just want the three of them together!! Percy, Annabeth and Grover. That's all. Just like the first book. We don't get much of Annabeth in the book as she's a prisoner for a lot if it. We get lots of Thalia (Zeus' daughter), a fair dose of Grover (a Pan-hunting satyr), and a lot of Zoe Nightshade (one of Artemis' hunting posse).

Grover Underwood: A large-hearted satyr whose favorite foods are aluminum cans and cheese enchiladas. He is 28 years old, yet has the appearance of a teenager due to the satyrs' slower growth rate (half that of humans). He wants to become a searcher for Pan, the satyr god of nature and the wild, who fell into a "deep sleep" due to humans' pollution of the world.

The group receives a ride from Artemis's brother Apollo who lets them use the sun chariot, with Thalia at the wheel. The combination results in a gut-wrenching experience for the group because Thalia is scared of heights and the sun chariot can fly. Soon, they arrive at Camp Half-Blood, almost crashing in the canoe lake. Bianca sacrifices herself in the Junkyard of the Gods, which is located in the Southwestern U.S. desert region, to save the group from the Talos prototype. Haha! Is it just me or is there actually no god he didn’t challenge already? XD No matter which goddess or god appears, Percy seems to be ready to fight them all and I love it! ;-P I think by now he’s so pissed that he just doesn’t care anymore. At this point he might even take them on for just looking at him the wrong way. *lol* I can’t help but wonder what this means for the next two books and I’m so ready to read “The Battle of the Labyrinth”!!! Next one, please! XD I should've written this review a few days ago but I didn't because I was pretty busy and well, lazy as well hahaha. My first year in university has started since Monday and I have been pretty busy with tasks lately but I'm enjoying my college life! ( so far ) it's so much fun!

Percy soon encounters Apollo again when they get on another train headed west. Apollo advises him to seek out Nereus, the Old Man of the Sea. Percy soon has a dream, in which he is given the sword Anaklusmos by a girl. Unbeknownst to him, he is in fact seeing through the eyes of Hercules and the girl, he later realizes, is Zoë. This offering in the series raises the stakes in small ways, but in others I felt like it was sort of... useless fluff. A discussion is held about who is to go on the quest. It is decided that Zoë, Thalia, Bianca, Grover, and Phoebe would go, leaving Percy protesting. When asked whether his determination was due to his desperation to rescue Annabeth, Percy hesitates. In the end, the decision is final and there is nothing he could do to change it. Chiron tries to comfort him. Percy then sends an Iris message to his mother and finds her chatting with Paul Blofis, her new boyfriend. Before the connection is cut, Sally encourages Percy to do what he thinks is right. The demigods rush to the rescue to find that Grover has made an important discovery: two powerful half-bloods whose parentage is unknown. But that’s not all that awaits them. The titan lord Kronos has devised his most treacherous plot yet, and the young heroes have just fallen prey. An eight-hour-and-forty-eight-minute audiobook [13] read by the actor Jesse Bernstein [14] and published by Listening Library [15] was released on April 24, 2007. [4] [16] [17]Annabeth Chase - fourteen years old, daughter of Athena. She is kidnapped when the rescue operation for both the di Angelos and Grover goes wrong, and is forced to take on the burden of the sky. The one thing that made me shake my fist like an old man was Annabeth missing for a large chunk of the book. It was a smart plot device for another adventure, but oh man, I missed her! Apollo - God of the Sun, Archery, and Prophecy. He drives a sun vehicle that, usually is in the form of a Maserati Spyder, can change with the push of a button. Apollo had recently traveled to Japan, and creates terrible haikus often. The Lightning Thief | The Sea of Monsters | The Titan's Curse | The Battle of the Labyrinth | The Last Olympian
