About this deal

By default, this mesh is configured with the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands under the same SSID with the 6GHz band as a separate SSID. In attempting to connect to 6GHz, the phone would report no internet connection and disconnect. A Windows 11 PC with a 2x2 Wi-Fi 6E card connected without issue. The ZenWiFi Pro XT12 is a traditional Tri-band with an additional 5GHz band (the 5GHz-2). So it has 2.4GHz and two 5GHz bands (5GHz-1 and 5GHz-2). The tech specs of the Asus ZenWiFi Pro ET12 are dazzling, starting of course with the Wi-Fi 6E support. Remember that your other devices will need to be capable of Wi-Fi 6E connectivity to get the best speeds, but older Wi-Fi standards are of course supported as well. Across the three bands offered by the unit – 2.4GHz, 5GHz and the newly introduced 6GHz – you can get speeds up to 11,000Mbps and cover more than 550 square metres, which should be more than enough for most people's needs. The Adaptive QoS is a common feature available in all Asus routers and is one of the most easy-to-use QoS features among all home routers.

WiFi 7 will be overrated anyway since mainstream SFP28 or better is yearsss away anyway so this is the beast to buy! Signed, sealed, delivered. Reply

This link works behind the scenes to keep the hardware units together as a system. It also determines the ceiling bandwidth (and speed) of all devices connected to the particular broadcaster. When it comes down to it, the ZenWiFi Pro ET12 is one of the fastest Wi-Fi systems you can buy and there’s no getting around that. The thing is, most of us simply don’t need this kind of power in our homes. Pros: Everything else minus the price tag. We went from a cheaper Linksys setup that had an app with only the most basic functionality, a mesh system that would drop out on us a lot and when it did work, the speeds were mediocre at best. Compared to that system this ASUS is night and day. To put it into perspective, we are in a 3000+ sq. ft. house with some old furniture that does a good job of obstructing signals: when comparing the 4 ASUS nodes we have now to the 6 we were using with Linksys, our wifi speeds have doubled in all scenarios (both wireless and wired) with just as good if not better range.

The router supports LAN Link Aggregation. In this case, you can combine the two Gigabit LAN ports (LAN1 and LAN2) to deliver a 2Gbps connection. In a mesh setup, you can also do that on the satellite unit. As noted, there were some issues early on in my testing period with the Wi-Fi 6E connection on my Android 12-powered Zenfone 8. While a Windows 11 PC was able to connect, I had to jump through a couple of hoops to get it working as expected. This would be very frustrating if you had just spent quite a lot of money on this mesh system. On 6GHZ, speeds were generally high and in line with some of the best mesh systems I’ve tested in this location, such as the remarkable Orbi RKBE963 system. If you’re looking for 6GHz Wi-Fi to transform your Wi-Fi experience, it’s not so straightforward. Still, if you’re OK with spending the money on this kit, you’ll probably be very happy with your speeds. You’ll also be ready for internet connection over 1Gbps which are starting to become more common on both Cable and Fiber connections. So, while this app is convenient and fun to use, it can cause issues if you mess around too much. AiProtection Asus’s Wi-Fi 6E mesh hardware: The ZenWiFi Pro ET12 next to the ZenWiFi ET8 Here’s another picture of the pair. Note how the ET12, though much larger, has no USB port. From all of my reading, it seems that not considering the price, all of these systems would perform better than my current setup…and be somewhat future proof for few years. But I can’t figure out if these new systems can handle Wifi5 better. I think I am suffering from a severe case of too much information! 🙂 b. Replacing Cox Gateway (deactivate router but keep the fiber ONT) with 2 Wi-Fi Mesh ASUS Wi-Fi routers.
