About this deal

I applied it to my swing and after a month of getting used to it my consistency and mental aptitude during the swing have strengthened considerably without having to really make a big swing change. Our new video Masterclass allows you to consume all the advice from the book more efficiently and in less time. PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio. In terms of advice for things you can try out with your swing, the biggest one for me was Tour Tempo… wow.

There are four foundations to building a successful game - expectation management, strategy, practice, and a sharp mental game. I have a solid short game and I can putt with the best of them…and it’s enough to let me love the game more than ever. I would not say this is a revolutionary book, but, again, some good wisdom to be found here and there.

You can finally get all of the methods he's used to become a scratch golfer and coach other golfers in one complete guide. It was great to ground my expectations with actual stats of what people with similar handicaps (or even better handicaps) are doing. But because this game can be so challenging and mentally exhausting at times, adding a bit of grit is almost necessary for most. The Four Foundations will teach you how to be your own coach, and not waste time on methods that don’t work.

If you like what I've been doing on Practical Golf, you will find this book far more comprehensive and organized than anything I have ever done.

It’s a commitment to yourself that you will not give up and stay mentally engaged no matter what happens. Incredibly intuitive information ie- shoot for middle of green in approach shots, focus on speed primarily for putting, etc. I preferred Young’s book, even though the writing in Sherman’s is more articulate and better organized.

Conversely, those who genuinely want to improve and love the process find ways to problem-solve to reach their goals and outperform. Become a happier, more fulfilled golfer through expectation management• Understand how scoring truly occurs and use modern data analytics to lower your handicap efficiently• Learn a strategic framework a golfer of any level can quickly adopt - pick smarter targets with every club in your bag and watch your scores drop overnight• How to practice efficiently. What is most interesting is that having grit elsewhere in life does not necessarily mean it will translate to your golf game. I have yet to find a book more comprehensive, yet approachable, and so vital to learning the foundations of golf. A pretty comprehensive accounting of the mental aspects of the game, and an excellent use of Statistics and data driven Analysis.

Great for a high to mid-handicap golf player or even a low-index player—who somehow has miraculously achieved a low handicap without consulting any course strategy. Sherman does a great job of illustrating and supporting his concepts with statistics and objective data, while presenting in the information in an easily digestible manner. As I kept slowly chipping away and celebrating my tiny accomplishments, I was also proving my new identity.

The strategy section is pure gold, and opened my eyes to ways I can improve my handicap without even changing my swing. You can’t become the golfer at the top of your mountain (which is different for each player) without climbing through some mud at the bottom.can not recommend this audiobook enough, I'm a 13hc golfer and after listening to this book went and shot a 77 (5 over) round due to listening to the concepts in this book. I believe The Four Foundations is the most comprehensive and practical guide on how to improve your golf game and increase your enjoyment. Learn the philosophy that has helped thousands of players worldwide lower their scores and improve their relationship with golf. A psychologist who wrote a wonderful book entitled Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance, Angela Duckworth, defines grit as “perseverance and passion for long-term goals.
