Unfortunately, the snack/sippy cup pockets in the Schwinn trailers are smaller and tighter and difficult for young kids to use on their own. tires, in general, are a disadvantage because safety precautions recommend a maximum of just 10 MPH. The Burley Bee used to come in only a double version, but new for 2021, Burley is now offering it as a single version as well. In my opinion, the nicest upgrades you get as you move up the Burley trailer spectrum are premium seats (padding can be really nice for kids on longer rides), suspension (important if you ride gravel or bumpy roads), and a rubber, reinforced floor.Kristen is a USA Cycling certified coach and loves to share her passion for biking with other families. For a seamless solution to biking and strolling on the go, the Honey Bee™ easily converts from a lightweight, two-seat bike trailer to a convenient walking stroller. If you know you are going to be biking A LOT, then I’d highly recommend spending more to get these features. The height of the shoulder straps is continuously adjustable for maximum comfort and safety in the Bee.

Keep in mind that Burley, like all trailer companies, offers better comfort and more features as you upgrade to a higher model. If this is something you want, check out the Burley Honeybee which is essentially the same trailer but with the strolling option.Your toddlers are going to have to be cool with snuggling up to their siblings, and probably getting a little tight and smooshed as they grow older. As of January 2021, the Burley Bee is also offered as a single trailer, replacing the former Burley Minnow.

Its lack of suspension was noticeable for the adult and child rider, but our 18-month-old was actually cooing with glee the entire time. Compared to other entry-level trailers, the Bee is more durable, more enjoyable to tow, and more comfortable for your kids. Ever since the first bike trailer testing standard in 1995, Burley has worked continuously to build products of the highest standard. If you don’t want to hassle with sunblock every time you go out for a ride, you should invest in a trailer with a sunshade.Please DO NOT sign for goods if you think that they are damaged, or the packaging has been tampered with. If you do plan on riding on trails or uneven terrain, you should definitely look into upgrading to the Burley Encore X or D’Lite X.

Here’s a quick snapshot of where the Burley Bee shines in comparison to the Allen S2, Schwinn Trailblazer, and InStep Take 2. But it also adds a lot of comfort for the rider if you’re planning on going off-road or on uneven surfaces regularly. about Burley trailers is that they’re so quiet and pull so smoothly over paved trails… so every once in a while I had to nervously look back to make sure the Bee was still connected to my bike!The InStep Take 2’s 16″ tires on plastic rims are a no-go for us, and also don’t have a wheel guard. The lever that holds that bars into place when fully open was nearly impossible for me to snap into place. If, on the other hand, you’re simply doing the occasional weekend bike ride, the Burley Bee should be find for your needs. While those extra features can be really nice, 10 extra pounds can also really take a toll during long rides when you’re pulling two passengers.
