About this deal

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced Scream, Scream 2 and Scream 3 for Blu-ray release on March 29, tying in with the theatrical release of Scream 4, due out April 15.

We reviewed this Region free UK Ultra HD Blu-ray release on a JVC-DLA N5 Ultra HD 4K projector (for main HDR10 viewing), a Philips 50PUS6754/12 Ultra HD 4K TV (for a DV/HDR10 comparison) and a Panasonic DP-UB9000 Dolby Vision/HDR10 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player(for HDR10 viewing) and a Sony UBPX700 Dolby Vision/HDR10 Ultra HD Blu-ray player (for DV/HDR10 comparisons). This new colour grade really does give the whole film a real vibrancy with an energy and an enhanced clarity to the colours that is now a real joy to watch after twenty years of the drab previous releases. We will introduce you exclusively to Newpay finance products provided by NewDay Limited under this Introducer Appointed Representative arrangement. The problem is the fact that the ending's a terrible cheat to a franchise that originally started as a parody of the horror genre, but eventually evolved into a joke in and of itself. Having said all that, for every individual element of the image that is really solid, it never quite stands out as a top tier 4K image. The previous Blu-ray release was somewhat of a disappointment, hindered largely by some unsightly artifacts and mostly looking flat in general. On the official press release, there is also an interesting part: In celebration of the 25th anniversary, Fathom Events and Paramount Pictures will bring SCREAM back to select cinemas for a special two-day event on October 10 and 11. Paramount Home Media Distribution will release a 4K Blu-ray SteelBook Edition of Wes Craven's Scream 2 (1997), starring David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Jamie Kennedy.

And unlike all the other previous entries, this one has folded back in on itself and become solely about those previous entries. Still easily the worst of the original trilogy then…but being Scream, it’s still a witty, fun and bloody good time that shows that even at its nadir, the franchise really was head and shoulders above most of what passed for mainstream horror then and with the franchises forced continuation, even now.Paramount Home Media Distribution will re-release a 4K Blu-ray SteelBook Edition of Wes Craven's Scream (1996). However, the same DTS-HD MA soundtrack and collection of supplements have been ported from that same release.

The track overall sounds ‘big’, having an immediacy and presence that adds to the overall energy of the film. Not quite…but it’s clear to see that underneath that misguided comedy tone, there is a clever and intelligent commentary trying to get out and now, with nearly a quarter of a century to get over that initial disappointment felt so keenly on release, it’s an awful lot easier to see the positives in what really should have been the trilogy capper for this still-fantastic cast of characters.

Set during the production of Stab 3, the movie starts off with some amusingly intriguing nudges at the Hollywood system, and the kills play out much like they do in the script of the faux-horror flick. One character played by Deon Richmond notes public outcry for filmmakers killing the Randy character in the 'Stab' sequel. Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more. Away at college, Sidney Prescott thought she'd finally put the shocking murders that shattered her life behind her. There are also some moments when darker portions overwhelm background info, but overall, everything remains clear and perceptible.
