Osprey is a top backpack brand that specializes in designing and producing a range of backpacks for specific activities and practical applications. My main gripe is that the metal frame ventilation system on the back makes the Osprey Kestrel backpack a little more sturdy and inflexible than I would like so it can sometimes be a bit challenging to deep pack.

The Kestrel 48 provides sufficient room for air to freely flow down your back because there are a few inches separating your back and the pack. Tall people don’t necessarily have long torsos, just as shorter people don’t always have a short torso length.

If you are more the suitcase-type you will love the U-Zip suitcase opening that is situated on the front panel. However, if you are striding out over easy terrain it’s better to loosen these straps to allow full hip flexibility. Seriously guys, I recently upgraded to this from a lesser pack and I cannot BELIEVE how light this feels in comparison! This one is situated between the backpanel and the main compartment and has a drainage hole if you spill some water.
