About this deal

The way this story is told in such a raw yet accessible manner with two children, Lowra an orphan raised with privilege and Dikembe or Celestine as he is later known after his name was stolen from him, experiencing being trapped in an attic nearly a century apart but bound by the same secrets really captivates the reader. Lola: Look, Bun-Bun. I'm am organ donor. Are you an organ donor? You wanna give each other our organs. Nikki/Victoria is not a great mum. Her biggest flaw is that she needs to have a man in her life to feel complete – the reason why she stayed with an abusive spouse and the reason behind some of her more maddening decisions after they leave. But, she’s not completely hopeless. After all, the entire reason that they leave is because Jay, the abusive spouse/father, hit Jayni/Lola Rose for the first time. And apart from her deep-seated need to have a man around, she’s not that bad of a mum. She knows that she can do better but she is trying and does her best to take care of their emotional and physical needs. Jayni/Lola Rose might have been parentified because of her mum’s fatal flaw, but she has a mum who is trying. When Lincoln suggests Lola to read Unicorn University, she refuses by stating that she already saw its film adaptation. However, this would be an empty argument, since film adaptations tend to diverge from their source material. The way the family was cheering about the contest is similar to how the siblings cheer for a school day from " Snow Bored."

Lola and Daffy being hypocrites by claiming to each other, especially to Porky, that they're irresponsible for the former two's case, not having a driver's license, and the latter's case, having an expired driver's license, when the former two are actually both irresponsible for driving without driver's licenses.Lucy's plan to chain Lola and pretend that she and Lana were split personalities would not actually work, since the librarian saw them together at the library. Jayni mengubah namanya menjadi Lola Rose.

Lola: A right? Pfft. Yose-mite, I just got a perfect score on my written test. I think I can do a little more than take a right.I really enjoy Jacqueline Wilsons writing style, I find that she is an author that makes things easy to follow and understand. Putting myself in the shoes of a child reader, I feel like I would understand this book and not struggle to follow any aspects of it. As a child the themes weren't as obvious to me and were in fact very subtle, however as an adult their purpose and importance screamed out to me. This category was an easy category to review and subsidise a book for as most novels either have a male or female main character.
