Valerie chose the Suite Prestige Ventoux to wear her beautiful white wedding dress, accompanied by her mother and her sister. In a few minutes, Valerie and Antoine will exchange their vows in this magnificent village of Crillon le Brave in front of their friends and family members. After this emotional moment, all the guests and the newlyweds leave for the Crillon le Brave hotel to celebrate the union of Valerie and Antoine during the vin d'horreur on the terrace of La Table du Ventoux offering the best of Provence. Fortunately that evening, the mistral did not rise, Valerie and Antoine and their guests were able to organize the buffet on the terrace enjoying the magnificent sunset on the Mont Ventoux. The decoration is sumptuous: a floral wall was installed for the occasion. Valerie and Antoine, wanted a wedding in accordance with the place of reception is a Provencal theme. Region where nature is of a crazy richness, associated to the well being, to the radiant green foliage and to the majestic flowers, to celebrate a wedding on a theme of Provence allowed Valerie and Antoine to imagine a unique, plant and poetic decoration. The tables were decorated with ivy, olive and eucalyptus foliage with candles and soliflores vases. A romantic, chic and sober decoration, which characterizes Antoine and Valerie. Only a few steps away from the hotel, the small church Saint Romain de Crillon le Brave welcomes the religious ceremony. Made of stone, this typical church is the perfect place for a wedding in Provence that is both intimate and sublime. The church square, surrounded by classic buildings and small, charming homes, is the perfect setting to savour this moment with a few souvenir shots. Under the golden light of the South, seal your wedding in Provence in a timeless paradise. My main problem with the novel was the character of Antoine, the children’s father. He wanders in and out of the story but there isn’t really any depth to him. To me, the romance seemed a bit contrived and not very convincing. The novel is set in 1963 and I can certainly see the benefit of setting the novel in that time period before mobile phones etc. However, there wasn’t anything in the story to make it feel as though it was set in that period apart from several references to Audrey Hepburn. There are a lot of luxurious wedding venues in the South of France. Choosing the venue is part of the wedding planning. It can set the tone of the wedding day and can be either grandiose or minimalistic. It all depends on your character as a couple. There are a few key elements you need to consider when choosing your wedding venue. First of all, you have to set your desired location in general, your budget, but you also have to know the number of guests. You can make a beach wedding with the help of a wedding planner or a romantic wedding in a chateau that includes all the wedding providers. Set in late summer 1963, A Wedding In Provence follows the adventures of Alexandra, a young heiress at the mercy of distant relatives, who whilst trying to stay in Paris, accidentally becomes nanny to three children in a chateau in Provence. She arrives to find the housekeeper has departed, a stove she can’t light, and the children are at first hostile (shades of The Sound of Music), but she gradually wins them over. Add in a handsome Count, some wonderful friends to help her out of fixes, a selfish ex-wife and some glorious food (she is really very good at food) and you have a very pleasant novel filled with delightful characters to while away a Sunday afternoon with. Also perfect if you happen to be confined to bed. I would recommend a large pot of tea and some French pastries as well. Warning: you will want croissants after reading this book.Rounded down from roughly 4.5 stars ⭐️ Katie Fforde has done it again by creating another incredibly charming read!
