The reason The Walking Dead works so well and is utterly engrossing and compulsive is due to Kirkman's deft talent for characterisation, the more you read about the on-going hardships of these characters the more you want to read. Refreshingly these characters aren't good or bad for the most part they're just regular people in a very irregular situation. What would you do to protect your family in a world where the old rules don't exist anymore? At what point does killing someone become normal? These questions and more are what The Walking Dead is built on. The zombie invasion in Alexandria Safe-Zone has ended.
