I saw Otty as much stronger and grounded than he was (not necessarily a good thing) – for me she was the practical one and tried to get on with everything whilst he was the creative/dreamer. Both of them start out with insecurities and they worry about pleasing others. I despaired they would ever get together. The ebb and flow is at the right pace and kept me engaged. When the case falls on the desk of the DA that Kate works for, she can’t help but become even more entrenched in figuring out who did what and she wants justice for Grant, the boy who died, even if it means one of the other boys will go to jail.

With Malice and Dangerous Girls do a magnificent job of attaching history to their characters. Their friendships are rich and layered, full of inside jokes and shared experiences. This Is Our Story is mainly told from Kate's perspective and she doesn't provide the same depth we would have gotten from a River Point boy. We do get chapters narrated by the murderer, but they're largely superfluous and deliberately devoid of personal detail so we don't know who it is.

I’ve read several books on the Kray twins it’s a bit like reading about the titanic you know how it’s going to end!!!!
I wanted to enjoy this book, I really did. But I really struggled to get into it. It’s taken me 5 days to read it because I just wasn’t enjoying it. It’s a traditional will they/won’t they and in a similar vein to Flatshare by Beth O’Leary; the characters live together and in this book also work together. I thought Joe's character was very weak and just felt that not a lot happened apart from the script writing story line plus Fraser.

The unique way this story is told. Not only are we getting the story from Kate’s perspective, but we get to read along to video interrogation of those who were at the party the night before the incident, text messages, and of course the words of the person who committed this crime. It’s such a great way to learn about everything that led up to the incident and it’s told in so many different perspectives so you don’t actually know what exactly is true or what’s been influenced by the person’s perception! I liked that he seems like a typical writer in the industry, a male-dominated industry, but we discover hidden depths to our Joe. In many ways I felt like Joe was more the underdog of this story than Otty was, someone which is unusual to find in a romcom. He is such a complex fellow and I know you're going to love getting to know him.
