This book didn’t give us anything new from MP2, and the plot was pretty much nonexistent. The first 80% was extremely drawn out, with all the action in the last 20%. The mafia bits felt thrown in and strung together to provide a reason for the hit, but it could have been executed better.

I understand that the question with which this universe begins is how many loves do you get in a lifetime? but of the four books we've had so far, in three of them we had to read how Magnolia falls in love with other men who are not BJ: I'm already suffering for the way both of them are going to feel guilty about Bridget, and in some point is fair because he wasn't honest with her about what was happening in his life and she did get involved with a gang lord without thinking in the consequences. There wasn't much of a plot to be honest, if you read MP2 you already know everything that happens in this book. why oh WHYYYY did he think it would be okay to get involved with her😭😭😭😭 everything is ruined now. everything. he cannot be forgiven for his involvement. he’s literally the worst character.

i liked that we saw his "lover" side this book and he had a character development. i'm proud because that's my boy, i was in the trenches defending him after DH1 and LOOK AT HIM NOW.

considering that my rating on daisy haites 1 was 5/5, one would think i went mad rating this new book THIS low and all i have to say for myself is that 1 star is for Daisy and Christian (not even their scenes could save this book i am sobbing) and one is for Jonah (love of my life i love you). Raised by her older brother, Julian, aftertheir parents were murdered, Daisy has never been able to escape the watchful gaze of her gang-lord brother. But Julian’s line of work means that Daisy’s life is . . . complicated. The bookstore be closed on November 1rst for the bank holiday. Operations will resume the following day. The rest of the Box Set I honestly don't even care. They had one good scene when they were laughing about Christian's sex tape, so I guess there's that. At least they weren't beating up on Christian this whole book. Progress. But again, there wasn‘t enough of Daisy and Christian. For example; Daisy can drive! HELLO? Why wasn‘t that mentioned? The first book was so deep and so raw regarding the two of them so this was disappointing.

So we can safely admit that this useless relationship dragged Julian’s character in the mud and made him unbearable. Good job. although daisy was a btec magnolia in her last book, i actually enjoyed her quite a lot here. and christian makes her so much more likable as well. thats bae <3. wouldn’t say i fell in love with her like i hoped i would, but i did warm to her and that’s a start. shes much better written in this book (less mental instability). and her povs are also so much better when you don’t open those despicable footnotes. The feel of him is my favourite feeling in the world, for all of history and all of time, write it down, ring the town bell and tell the scribes—I’ll wear it on my heart’s sleeve forever that I love him.” He’s happy enough to use Daisy to throw off the scent of his true affections – until she starts to infiltrate those too.
