About this deal

Sometimes, one might think that they had parents who were not the best, but imagine Jane Slater! She had the misfortune of having a father who was a serial killer and a mother who was a control freak. Breaking away from them wasn't easy but then dad, The Painted Lady Killer known for his penchant for placing these butterflies onto his victims, is sent to prison where he is to this day. I cannot believe I have not read this author’s work before now. I love how she keeps you unsure, never knowing where this story is going to go. I could not get enough of this book. The characters are brilliant and you are given enough scenic details to transport you into the character’s world. I raced through this book and loved every second. It was a fabulous read. I cannot wait to dig into The Serial Killer’s Wife…. Having enjoyed the authors previous work ‘The Serial Killer’s Wife’ I was excited to receive #TheSerialKillersDaughter and I was not disappointed!

Be there in a minute. Can you hurry the kids along for me?’ I do my best to keep my voice steady, despite the fear rising within me. Why is my ring missing, and why is there mud under my nails? Too late, I realise I should’ve corrected her, praised her instead of letting her think she’d done a bad job, but my mind is not quite here. I need to make sure it is, though, because in twenty minutes I’m going to be operating on our first animal with Samir and Vanessa. I loved the storyline. It captured the mind of a criminal, dark thoughts and doubts amazingly. It made so much sense when I read that the author has a psychology degree and worked with prisoners. So many interesting characters they each added to the storyline and just when I thought that I knew who it was it wasn't.You all right in there, love? You’ve been ages.’ It’s Mark. Obviously. Who else would it be? Images flit through my mind’s eye, like beetles scuttling to hide, but I can’t grasp hold of any that make sense. A great thrilling read. We all have family secrets but Jenny's is so dark. Her father really messed with her mind I am surprised that she is still so normal. Did not like Mark he was too weak for Jenny he needed to trust her more yes she wasn't completely honest but what he did was so wrong. Just like The Serial Killer's wife I had difficulty doing anything other than reading this book once I had started it! Gently rolling the top down, I uncover more of the mutilated animal, its tail, ginger and striped, curled to the side of the guts. More or less intact, albeit bloody.

Mark is about to do something that will change everything it and not in the best way. Jenny is destroyed but she isn't willing to go without a fight. She knows that she can find the answers that everyone is looking for but at what cost? In a sleepy Devon village, a young girl is taken from the streets, Local vet, Jenny, is horrified. This kind of thing doesn't happen here. But it's not the first time She's been so close to a crime scene. The daughter of a prolific serial killer, she's spent her whole life from running from who she really is. And the crime is harrowingly similar to those her father committed all those years ago.... Oh my! I thought The Serial Killer's Wife was good but Alice Hunter has really turned up the heat for The Serial Killer's Daughter. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reader ReviewBut when a local woman goes missing in her tiny village, one who does not get along with Jenny, it causes a lot of upset and concern. Things start to unravel for Jenny, who is concerned that she will become chief suspect and have her past revealed. This is a fast paced, dark and gritty story that grips the reader’s attention. It was a whirlwind of chaos, twists and turns. I push those thoughts away as Mark takes my hand and turns it palm-up, dropping my wedding ring into it and giving me a questioning look.

Could Jen be responsible for everything that is going wrong? After all, her father is a serial killer....not that she has ever told Mark. Is she following in her fathers footsteps? The twist at the ending is so cleverly written that I was left thinking about it for a long time after. In a sleepy Devon village, a young girl is taken from the streets. Local vet, Jenny, is horrified. This kind of thing doesn’t happen here. If you enjoy an edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller you will not go wrong reaching for this book. It is gripping and full of twists that leave you wondering all the time. A brilliant read that I would highly recommend. Get a copy – you will not be disappointed Our worries and questions will eat away at us if we keep them buried. Like poison waiting to claim a victim.” This was a great thriller with some good twists. The Author creates the needed suspension and storyline that will keep you reading until the end. Great premise to a story that will keep you guessing.
