About this deal

From my experience with Kung Te Cheng and Whaleman's Sepia, I'd imaine flow might be an issue in any pen that isn't already very wet. Noodler's BB is really perfect in this thing, and anything Iroshizuku will probably do very well also. The body of the Prera is clear acrylic, with white detailing including the Prera logo. As I mentioned, the finial and end cap on the pen are available in transparent colored acrylic, and the remaining details (clips, rings) are chrome.

The pen is an excellent writer. Every ink I've put in it does great. Mine is a bit of a wet writer, which compensates for the dry ink I've put in it. The inkflow is reliable with a moderately wet, consistent, and solid line. I simply don’t have a problem with inkflow with the Prera until I run out.I totally agree, and I found the same with the Plumix nib in my Metropolitan. Those grips work well...in the same way that Lamy Safari and AL-Star grips do. Great review. I may get one later down the line. Seem to be a well liked make. Italic is becoming my fave style with a finer point. Nice quirky and well shaped lettering here by the way. Gives a great broad to narrow nib positioning example too. Love capital and lower case intermingled in a word. Funny how we can dip in and out of specific lettering styles with different nibs. Some nibs lead themselves down pathways of flourishing unique patterns. Some are basic and calming. Do what they say on the tin! Cheers for the insights.

I find my Prera Medium writes a Fine to Medium Fine european line, though my tines may be further apart than others. But I like it much better than any Jowo steel Fine nib I've tried. Pilot Prera. I Love this pen. Compact. Available in nine solid colors and seven demonstrator colors. F, N or Calligraphy Medium nib. In comparison to other pens, it is probably closest in size to the Sailor Pro-Gear Slim, and a decent amount shorter than Pilot’s other entry level model, the Pilot Metropolitan Pop. Left to right: Pilot Prera, Sailor Pro-Gear Slim Cosmos, Pilot Metropolitan Pop, TWSBI Eco Pam: The Pilot Prera comes in a variety of colors ranging from neon green to a deep brown. There are even demonstrator versions that have a splash of color on the cap and the end of the pen body. All the colors come with a complimentary silver/chrome trim.I bought the white one and still regret not buying a grey one as well. Katherine’s limited edition Prera is Pilot are not especially well-known in the UK for fountain pens. This is sad, as the company was originally built on this type of pen and in Japan they offer an enormous range of them. However, we've been doing our best to rectify that over the years, and Pilot UK have also been growing the range available here.Franz: As I said above, I got to play with both pens and the weight and dimensions are the same. The Prera may be in the featherweight class of pens but the feel was quite nice. Holding the pen unposted was a bit uncomfortable but once the pen’s cap is posted, it’s a nice size pen to handle. Post: Secure and rigid. The posting is wonderful! You'll want to post the cap to make sure it's long enough to grip properly.

Thanks guys! I guess I'll have to decide by looking at the other things each pen offers. Also sorry if this is in the wrong section! So what pen you decided I had to remind myself of why I originally bought it after shelving it for a while because I was on the search for a full sized pen unposted. Buy with confidence from these brands and retailers that either support the blog or I shop at personally. Between the two pens, I liked Katherine’s more (sorry Pam). Mainly because the nib in it was a medium and it won me over. Secondly, Katherine’s was the Oeste Kingfisher Blue and well, it’s blue! ‘Coz #ilovebluepens! Thanks @Donald2, it's great to find someone who has experience with these converters. Do you recommend filling the CON-20 through the nib, or detached? I usually fill converters through the nib because that way the feed gets filled with ink. I know that this is a bit of a zombie post, but I would recommend adding something about how different cleaning materials might react with different pen materials (ammonia, isopropol alcohol, etc). The o-ring goes at the bottom of the threading and acts as stopped. This way when you screw the body down, there is some pressure against it from the grip section and it’s less likely to loosen over time. The silicone grease goes on the threads and prevents any ink from snaking its way down the threads over time. The Best Eyedropper Fountain Pens It would be unfortunate to see a beautiful pen damaged or dissolved by cleaning with the wrong supplies (especially since you mentioned that your friend was a "clean-freak". Yes" indicates that this pen can be converted into an eyedropper pen, which is filled by putting ink directly into the barrel. For instructions, see our eyedropper conversion guide. For "Yes - with Modification," see the Questions & Answers section above and the guide.
