About this deal

Einstein is a wonderful, sweet, heartwarming story with a mystery hovering around the family shaped heart. There isn't really a bad guy, as this isn't that kind of story. Imogen and Arthur provide plenty of adventure and some really clever mystery solving, and for a mute animal Einstein is very good at giving just the right hints at just the right time. One day, Einstein the penguin turns up at the house of the Stewart family and they discover he is on a rescue mission.Funny, intriguing and utterly heart-warming, this wonderful chapter book will delight newly confident junior readers. From stunning new writing talent Iona Rangeley, and illustrated with wit and brio by the award-winning David Tazzyman, this is a book that will be treasured for years to come. About This Edition ISBN: Hello Yellow - 80 Books to Help Children Nurture Good Mental Health and Support With Anxiety and Wellbeing -

The winners of The Farshore Reading for Pleasure Teacher Awards 2023, highlighting the work schools are doing to encourage a love of reading, have... It’s another Bookwagon day in our house. The kids were so excited to get their latest books in the post.

Iona Rangeley has just finished studying English at Oxford. She has wanted to be a writer since her debut novel Sam and the Pig, which she wrote when she was five. Iona starting writing Einstein the Penguin when her final exams came along, because it was more fun.

On the other hand, the book started off well for me but soon became quite far-fetched. Kids will enjoy the antics of the siblings and the clever penguin as long as they don’t ask “how”. This is because there are quite a few things left unexplained and are absolutely unrealistic. ( Yeah, okay… Children’s book… I gotta dial down my logical side.) There are also some things that didn’t quite work out the way I wanted. ( Expectations issue again… Sigh!) Paddington, the brown bear from darkest Peru, is found by the Brown family on Paddington Station with his hat, duffel coat and marmalade sandwiches. Gave me all the feels of when I was a kid reading Famous Five, Secret Seven, Baby-Sitters Club etc - just felt so nostalgic reading this sweet and fun tale of a tiny penguin who shows up at the Stewarts' home after their visit to the London zoo. But he didn't just follow them home from the zoo, there's a very important reason he's in London in the first place. ;)The family’s new feathered friend helps Arthur to come out of his shell and makes massive demands on Imogen’s amateur sleuthing. But together they must find out why Einstein came to them and they must keep away from the mysterious white-coat man.
