About this deal

I very much appreciate the variety of choices on E mount... /shrug Reminds me of M4/3 a little bit in that way. panther fan LOL 🤗 Are you trying to tell that Fujifilm X-Trans sensor is the one designed by and used in Sony cameras? If not then it's a completely different sensor than Sony uses in its cameras. Same here, I sold my APSC Sony gear in 2019, in 2021 probably I would stay with APSC, because now it's good enough for me and it has a lot of good lenses. Note that the Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 can also be found listed as the Samyang 12mm f/2.0. There is no difference with these two lenses as they are exactly the same and differ in name only. ** A thin rubber seal does give this lens some weather/dust sealing which is a nice upgrade from other inexpensive APS-C lenses I’ve used.

Fuji designs own sensors completely and utterly different from Sony's. Hence, colors and picture quality. Sony produces sensors for Fuji based on Fuji's own design — like for many many other top brands — but they are not Sony's sensors. The same way Taiwanese TSMC produces A14 and M1 chips for Apple. Sony is a mere fabricator. The A6x00 line simply uses the copper sensor from the X-T2, which has exactly the same IQ as the T3 and T4. The only difference is readout speed for electronic shutter This lens is also excellent for landscape photographers or anyone looking to explore the look of an ultra-wide lens. There are no external switches. You’ll have to select manual focus from within the camera. The focus action feels good. I like the texture of the focus ring, and damping is nice. Focus seems mostly linear, from what I can determine, so you should get some repeatability. Thanks to its 7-blade aperture, the Samyang AF 12mm F2 X gives attractive 14-ray sunstars. Fujifilm X-T5, Samyang AF 12mm F2 X, 1/50sec at f/11, ISO 125. Image credit: Andy Westlake Thanks to Samyang for sending me a test copy of the lens. As always, this is a completely independent review. Photography IS about colors. And different filter arrays and demosaicing make a tremendous difference even if the underlying tech is the same.

Would love to see a m43 prime lens between 7 and 9mm and f.28 or faster for a reasonable price. MF is fine with me especially if it brings cots down(I already own the excellent 7.5mm fisheye) - but the only real advantage of this Samyang 12mm is the f2.0 aperture. I am sure the Panasonic 12-32 is near enough as good at 12mm and offers autofocus too plus it costs slightly less. This is a great option for those wanting a wider angle when traveling or working on a gimbal. It has a great angle of view that is right in the sweet spot for landscape, city, or architecture. Dustin Abbott Vignetting on this lens is visible but it is nicely graduated which makes it much more pleasing to the eye and can even be beneficial to some images. KR] AF 24mm F1.8 FE and AF 12mm F2 E achieve exceptional resolution image quality from the center to the edges of the frame. Each lens is compact and lightwight and a perfect match for Sony cameras. IT dongA Same with Fuji, I’ve worked out that 90% of photographers (at least on the internet) are far more interested in saving money than anything else when it comes to gear, so having cheaper 3rd party options is definitely the best route, they still have to be connected to 1st party bodies.Samyang's AF 12mm F2 E lens is a compact, autofocus, super-wide-angle lens, optimised and ideally matched to Harnessed to one of Sony’s mirrorless cameras, the lens produces punchy image quality with strong contrast and vibrant color rendition. (Image credit: Future) Lab tests Here, I corrected barrel distortion in raw processing for more pleasing results. Fujifilm X-T5, Samyang AF 12mm F2 X, 1/210sec at f/8, ISO 125. Image credit: Andy Westlake Lab-test results for ultra-wide-angle lenses never tell the whole story, as the physical size of the test charts requires that images are shot from very close range. In our real-world tests, we found sharpness to be excellent in the central region of the frame even when shooting wide-open at f/2, and edge/corner-sharpness to be generally very good, rising to highly impressive levels at apertures between f/2.8 and f/8.
