As I have said the paint has faded, the colour looks sad and the grain is showing white lines along the grain. Please advice and let me know where I can get the Polytrol colour restorer. In fact they will probably accentuate them. If the door is particularly dirty you might want to consider using a cleaning product such as Owatrol Net-Trol. Or for the removal of mildew you may want to use something such as a 50:50 bleach and water solution.You could try a sample pot of Polytrol to see if it will recover the surface of the door. We’d recommend trying it first in a small area to see if it will recover the surface. Any rot we find on the door and the door frame is then repaired. For larger areas of damage, we splice in fresh wood. These are heritage doors that add so much character to your property. Removing original doors takes away a lot of the charm and style of your home. After cleaning, leave the door to dry for 24 hours before applying Polytrol.
