About this deal

It’s been so very positive. I’m no longer alone in every decision and have some fabulous people to sound things out with. The quality of the print-work and the skills of all the team make my work so much better too. It’s been a wonderful ride so far and I am looking forward to the future. Who was your first celebrity fan and how does it feel to have all these household names enjoying your poems?

Lose Someone Once, by Donna Ashworth You Don’t Just Lose Someone Once, by Donna Ashworth

The general theme is how perfect we are already - don’t change; embrace ourselves and realise how powerful we are. A timeless message from one of today’s best poets. It feels like she truly understands me; I particularly connected with the poem ‘The Interrupt’ as this describes me perfectly, and now I know why I do it! The poems contain such insight and clarity; they are so deep yet so readable. ‘There is no waiting room’ is so full of truth. Many thanks to Netgalley, Bonnier UK Audio, and the author, for the ALC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Love - This poignant collection of beautiful words is about all kinds of love, parental, sibling, as a child, as a partner, as a friend. Its about boundaries, its about acceptance, its about absence of love. It touched me in the way only poetry can.

I Wish I Knew Funeral Poem - Funeral Guide

Loss - This book is for everyone, because no matter how much we are prepared for loss, we are not. Loss is always sudden, even when expected. It seeps in with time, showing up unannounced at sight or feeling of something we relate to the lost ones. This collection is about dealing with those feelings, dealing with the trauma of loss, accepting the status of loss, healing the wounds, the scars and scabs left by loss.HAILING from Tillicoultry, Donna Ashworth rose to fame on social media, with her poetry winning a legion of celebrity fans, including Cat Deeley, Lisa Faulkner, and Lisa Snowden. Love : embracing all types of love, parental, partner, sibling and child. This really touched me and allowed me to accept more, There were a few spelling mistakes (women vs woman, ironically) and quoting of other authors not attributed, that brought my rating down. Life - this uplifting beautiful collection tells you to live, to age gracefully, to embrace the changes and to LIVE. I think the most beautiful part of this poetry set was the ones that dealt with ageing where the poet says again and again I want to age, I need to age and I deserve to age, because I have earned. I was so touched by this part as ageing being one of the biggest taboos of life, especially for women. We are taught how to hide the signs of ageing, to try and look young as much as we can. This perspective has helped me look at how I view ageing and how I have begun to accept each passing day as a blessing and not a curse

Some are what I would describe as paragraphs of advice more than what I myself would have catergorised as poetry but I enjoyed some of those just as much as some of the more tradition style that I expect of poetry. We at Scottish Field endeavour to ensure that all our reports are fair and accurate and comply with the Editors’ Code of Practice set by the For those looking for inspiration, peace and acceptance on the bumpy road that is life, Donna Ashworth's poems give insight into the enigmas of ageing, body image, family and the rapidly changing world around us.Loss : after losing my mum recently this part of the audiobook resounded firmly with me. It helped me deal with the daily feelings I have, and helped me understand that these feelings are relevant . She does just that in the poems that follow. Dip in and find how much they resonate for you. A couple of my favorites included the very first in this collection entitled Your Perfect; I also liked Rest, Your to do List and Less. A collection of insightful and uplifting verse to inspire women to be who they are capable of being. Really enjoyed despite the fact I would probably label myself as a non lover of poetry etc, I actually found some within this book that loved, adored in fact. Recommend reading this book whether you are a lover of poetry or not. A great introduction to poetry, a great taster selection of different types of poetry too.
