About this deal

I didn't think soap though when i first smelled it although i now know by association what that's meant to mean, and I didn't like any of the other philosophy fragrances that were out at that time. Pure Grace is simple, unpretentious and shy. I personally like it, but am not crazy about it. Two reasons: it's too weak and soft, and also, it doesn't demand to be remembered.

I bought a sample then instantly bought the whole eau du parfum because it's like putting on your wedding dress on your wedding day when you're young and have your whole life ahead of you, and you glance outside and see the warm sun on a summers day beaming down on your white rose bouquet. you feel loved, hopeful, excited yet fearful. butterflies in your tummy. sparkling, hopeful, fresh, romantic, exciting, you feel beautiful and feminine, youthful, loved. I've never tried or smelled the EDP, so I can't compare them. But when I do, I'll write an update. I'm not sure if I'll like the EDP better because it was a rose note, and I'm not a fan of a rose accord. But we'll see! If you have Big size bottles of both "Amazing grace" and "Pure Grace "in the same times, you may get bored of them very easily like "When they will run out, for god sake", I experienced it!, because they don't give much diifrent feeling when you wear each of them And it's so handy - I'm pretty active in my life and this carries well with that. I think while I love my niche fragrances and scents that have character and romance, like Hypnotic Poison and Poeme and L'Artisan, I really love natural, earthy smells too... things that lend themselves to various scenarios and settings. That being said, I'm sure it has to do a lot with body chemistry. I recall that my mother tried this, and on her it smelled like baby powder and fabric softener, a bit more clinical and even unisex. On me, it is undoubtedly feminine and fresh but in a rich, sexy way. It's the kind of scent that makes people just want to hug you and bury their face in your hair. I find it appropriate for both daytime and, in my opinion, date night, if you're the type of girl who prefers to smell sexy in a soft, intimate sort of way. Inoffensive, clean, perfect for formal occasions. I like to use it when I'm sad to give me a sense of wellness. Still enjoy the bottle design and believe this is a safe blind buy. Quite a skin scent. I'm no perfume expert, so please excuse my inability to identify specific notes. All I know is that my skin plays best with light, cozy, white musk type scents and on me, Pure Grace turns into something very warm and sensual. It is definitely clean and fresh, but not at all soapy on me. To me, it's way more complex and beautiful than just shower fresh - I can't imagine what kind of magical water I would have to use to smell like this just from bathing. I used to make fun of this for being a boring church girl perfume, but then I smelled it. It's great! I think jasmine is one of my power notes and this is a nice, dry, clean jasmine/rose with a really beautiful musk base. I also have some of the lotion, which seems to leave a lingering scent for even longer. It's really nice layered with almost anything (I recommend layering with an ambroxan scent like Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume!) and it's a good squeaky clean scent on its own. There is something about it that feels timeless without coming off as old fashioned. I can understand why it's so popular.

Fragrances like 'Amazing Grace' are the perfect example as to why I really wish that Fragrantica had an option that allowed us to judge a scent as being 'meh'. A way of saying that we don't like nor dislike a fragrance. Because sometimes we can smell something and think, well it's not UNpleasant, but I can't say that I really like it. Lavender note is not too sharp, it just act in the way giving this perfume an "Aromatic" kind of, yet person who doesn't like "Strong Aromatic scent" or hate "Strong lavender scent" can use it At the time, Philosophy was getting a lot of attention in the beauty press, with so many people raving about the range, so I guess I just bought into the hype. (Not to mention the really good price-point being offered for gift sets for all three fragrances, on QVC that day). But when I received them in the post I was really underwhelmed. I tried 'Amazing Grace' as that was the one which seemed to be most popular, but when I went in to smell my wrist I was just like "eh, is that it?" I really couldn't understand what all the hype had been about. But, no! I actually kinda super like this one. I think I prefer lily of the valley to freesia & that’s why it’s not a complete love for me- but it’s a nice cool firm freesia. It’s all very clean and the laundry musk is very nice. I just like my musks warmer, maybe? This seems more crisp, clean, folded than warm & fluffy. A little sharp & a little fast like a cool breeze- it’s really nice. I’m thinking I might try layering it with something a little warmer to slow it down. In fairness maybe? I do not like lavender in general but I have disliked certain elements in many perfumes and end up loving the combination...when it is right, but this is just so wrong. I have never said this in a review before but a dab, a bit more or a lot; this IS a very offensive scent, I actually would not be able to stay near someone wearing it. But when i pulled on a pad, a whole tread of roots and more pads came along, including a precious flower. I find this a nondescript, inoffensive, floral-leaning musk. Not a musk bomb though...just an underwhelming, safe musk. This is a review of the EdP, not the EdT or “fragrance spray” or whatever Philosophy used to call it. (I have an older bottle, BTW .. with dense sparkles at the bottom that disperse toward the top of the bottle, circa 2014-2015.. ish.)

I loved it, and I still do. It is light and fresh, but with that muskiness in the base that makes it last on the skin. It doesn't lean too citrus or too white floral. It's a really unique blend that I haven't smelt in any other perfume! It's very feminine and soft.

More From Feelunique

I dislike these fragrances and finally realized that what I hate about them is the powdery note/dry-down. Not sure why people are upset that this smells like fabric refresher or laundry, when it says right on the bottle, that's pretty much what it's supposed to be like? Anyway, highly recommend for clean scent lovers who are ok with lavender! Sillage is light but longevity is really good for me (5-7 hours), which is impressive considering it's an edt! We were cruising on a pedalo by the shore, when my dad decided we'd take a little break on the water, under the shade of a weeping willow (my favorite tree!). We were looking at the frogs and toads, then papa said that I could bend over the boat and grab a lilypad, that he'd hold my feet so I wouldn't trip overboard.
