About this deal

Up to 180 cuts in 10 x 10 cm cedar on a full M18™ HIGH OUTPUT™ 5.5 Ah battery charge for outstanding productivity It has a 6″ blade, making it a bit bigger than most of the best mini chainsaws that tend to only have 4″ bars. One of my mini saws also has a 6″ bar, and I must say it is nice to have the extra length from time to time (I can swap the 4″ and 6″ around). Then there’s the action of each saw. Reciprocating saws have much more vibration than chainsaws, and the Hatchet is a far more comfortable tool to use for pruning. You will need 4.0 battery or more to really get some decent run time but 2.0 will work for a very limited time. After a week of use I’m buying 2 of the m12 5.0 high output batteries. Should get me through most of the day or about 5 or 6 pruning jobs cutting small limbs and 3in to 4in limbs. All in all, the M12 Hatchet is a good mini chainsaw that can make pruning around the home much easier and faster. It’s great for the small stuff, and shouldn’t be used as your primary firewood saw (though I’m sure that goes without saying)!

Weighing 2.3 kg and featuring a compact design, the cordless pruning saw gives you increased control and manoeuvrability in tight access areas The Milwaukee Hatchet doesn’t seem to bog down as much as competing products, and the battery power looks good. It certainly gets longer run times than many out there. The M12 is also quite a bit heavier, but when you see it in the videos below, you’ll understand why – it’s bigger! Everything was simple to use. The saw did NOT come with the oil it requires. But the battery charged in less than a day, so by the time I got some oil it was ready to go. The oil reservoir level is easy to see as is the battery power level. And they say the saw won't work if the battery charge isn't sufficient, so you wont get a slow moving chain. I'm not familiar with how much oil a chain saw should use or have remaining on it's blade but this doesn't look any different than the HomeLite saw it's replacing. And of course I haven't messed with the chain itself but the nut wrench is stored out of the way on the saw and the directions appear simple to follow. Weighing less than 5lbs without a battery and featuring a compact design, the M18 FUEL™ HATCHET™ offers increased access and control in tight spaces compared to full-size chainsaw solutions. The saw’s advanced ergonomics and optimized design increases control and maneuverability in application to revolutionize the way users get the job done. The unboxing and setup happen at about the 5-minute mark after a rundown of all the specs and features.

Up to 180 cuts in 10cm x 10cm cedar on a full M18™ HIGH OUTPUT™ 5.5Ah battery charge for outstanding productivity. Milwaukee is committed to improving productivity by providing performance-driven and trade-focused solutions so users can perform an entire day's work on one battery system. The M18 FUEL™ HATCHET™ is fully compatible with the entire M18™ line, now offering more than 250 power tool solutions. This mini saw is quite unique in that it has a bar and chain oil reservoir that must be topped up before use. Most mini saws require this to be done manually with a small oil bottle.
