About this deal

When looking for a safe dish, it’s critical to carefully read the label and adhere to the manufacturer’s recommended guidelines. When Pyrex cookware was first introduced, it was put through extensive testing for up to 1000 hours. You can safely microwave a Pyrex bowl, which is great news for those of you who have been curious about it. You've also seen instruction guides saying that you need a special wax melter or to set up a "double boiler" and yes, while these are great tools to have, if you're just using a single candle kit or want to try out making candles you don't want to spend a lot of money on tools that will potentially be thrown in the loft if you don't want to continue the craft! Here's a much simpler (cheaper) solution Perfect for cooking, reheating and steaming, our generously sized 2 Litre Stain-Proof Lidded Microwave Jug has you covered (literally!), performing microwave tasks with ease and less mess.

A Pyrex dish has never been stained or harmed by this method, and no food residue has ever been left behind. Because Pyrex manufactures borosilicate glass, the company follows the thermodynamics of expansion and contraction caused by temperature variations. Microwave the nearly half pint of milk on high power until the milk is quite warm/hot. It doesn’t need to be super hot, or boiling – it just needs to be hot. Instead, put a soft sponge or cotton towel in hot water and let it soak for a few minutes. It’s preferable if you use a detergent without any aroma. Double-Walled Insulation: The jug features a double-walled design, which provides excellent insulation. This not only helps maintain the desired temperature of your contents but also keeps the exterior cool to the touch. All that is required is that you follow the straightforward instructions provided by the manufacturer. I used two Pyrex jugs – all you need is two microwave safe dishes, bowls, jugs, or mugs, that are BOTH large enough to hold the custard. For the mixing, I just used a regular fork.

I’d made a slow cooker bread & butter pudding, so wanted some custard for that, so I only wanted to make half a pint of custard today; to make a pint of custard, just double the quantities. After an hour or overnight soak, thoroughly rinse to eliminate any soap residue that may have remained. More recently though, I’ve found it increasingly difficult to find instant custard powder for sale at the supermarkets I was shopping at. There are said to be food shortages and empty shelves – something that never bothered me much as I always thought I’d find what I wanted another time, in another shop, but that’s been more rare. Using a product that is appropriate for your needs and following the manufacturer’s instructions exactly as they are written will result in a properly microwaved Pyrex container. There is no way to repair a piece of Pyrex that has been over-cleaned. Pyrex cannot be re-polished or coated, no matter how hard you try. Safety precautions must be implemented.Pour the hot milk into the jug that contains your custard powder/sugar/milk. Give this a really good stir so it’s all mixed together (I use a fork). In addition to PYREX lettering or the scallops of a pie dish, these stains can also be found on the edges of bowls or casserole rims. The glass should not be submerged in water or placed on cold surfaces immediately after it has been heated, as a rule of thumb. In a second jug mix the Birds Eye Custard Powder with the sugar and add a splash of milk from the first jug. Mix these together for a few seconds until it’s a bright orange liquid. Even if it isn’t completely accurate, it doesn’t matter. In any event, be careful. In general, water should never be added to chemicals.
