About this deal

Once your child reaches the weight limit of 18kg in Group 1 mode, you can adapt the Solar to be used in Group 2/3 mode. At this point, the 5 point harness is no longer required or used, and the child is secured using the car’s own 3-point seatbelt. The adjustable headrest means the seat will grow with your child, so you’re safe in the knowledge that they are well protected in your vehicle. Loosen the harness and press on the central adjuster button (21) (F-1). Pull on the harness shoulder straps (19) And even if they add a few minutes to your journey, they’re all well worth it to give you the peace of mind that your baby is travelling safely. Read on: Place the car seat on the vehicle seat and connect the Isofix connectors to the vehicle Isofix attachments (B-5). There will be an indicator visible on the connector The integrated ISOFIX connection and top tether strap allows for easy installation and peace of mind knowing the car seat is correctly installed in your vehicle. This also has the added built-in safety of Side Impact Cushion technology to reduce the force from any side collision.

Michelle: The only thing that could be changed with this car seat is maybe the overall weight of it. It is pretty heavy to carry. However, this is the case with many Isofix car seats, so I do not see it as a massive disadvantage against other products out there. I would not want to have to swap it between cars often due to this. While car seat groups do roughly correspond to your child as they age, the real factor that determines when you should be upgrading your car seat, is your child’s weight. Each group has a corresponding weight limit – it’s this that you should be monitoring, rather than your child’s age. Integrated Isofix – meaning you don’t to buy anything extra to use the Isofix fittings in your car. Side Impact Cushions – I’ve not seen these on any car seat before and loved this idea as they give your child extra protection in the event you get shunted from the side. You only need to install the one closest to the door but we’ve chosen to put both on as sometimes we move the kids seats around depending on who is driving and how many passengers we have in the car. I loved having this extra bit of reassurance in the event of an accident. The baby then transitions to Group 1 2 3 car seats, starting with Group 1 which are forward-facing and the child uses the car seats integral harness or impact cushion until they are 15kg. They then use the car’s seat belt which secures the child and the seat.Michelle: I would recommend this car seat. My daughter is very comfortable in it due to the overall shape and fabric of the seat. The strap covers are lovely and soft without too much padding which made it easy to get her in and out of the seat. The fabric seems very breathable, and even on a very hot day, my daughter stayed cool. The recline on the car seat is a great idea, especially if you have a young baby as it can be adjusted very easily even when the baby is sitting in the seat. Recline options – there are three, to ensure that there are no floppy heads happening – a fact we can attest to!

Once the baby exceeds the limits of a car seat they will transition to a convertible all-in-one car seat. A convertible car seat can start off rear-facing and then convert to a forward-facing from when the child is around 40 pounds or more. Providing support for your child in their older years, these seats are suitable between 15 and 36kg, or approximately 4 to 11 years old. Using a car with Isofix fittings means that you'll get a solid installation every time. 4. Installing it in the wrong place Both car seats are safe and designed for the baby’s specific height and weight provided they are rear-facing and installed properly. What is the difference between a Group 0 car seat and Group 1 2 3 car seat?Rebecca: I would recommend this product to other mums as I think it is very good value for money for an Isofix car seat. It will cover many ages meaning you get a lot of use out of it. It is well padded, comfortable and extremely easy to fit and use. It is also easy to remove from the car if you wanted to swap cars.

You should tighten the harness until you can just get two fingers between the straps and your baby’s body. Okay, so it sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised how easy it is to forget to do up either the seatbelt holding your car seat in place, or the harness on the seat itself.Yes it is definitely worth the money on initial use. Time will tell if the material is durable and the parts stay intact. Ensure the headrest does not obstruct the child’s shoulders. Also, make sure the top of the child’s head does not go over the top of the headrest Group 1 2 3 car seats are forward-facing car seats where the toddler uses the seat’s integral five-point safety harness initially or an impact cushion until they are 15kg (Group 1 Isofix car seat) and then uses the car seat’s five-point seatbelt belt to secure the child and the seat.

Small babies have heavy heads, and if they travel forward facing too early, they could sustain life-threatening spinal injuries in a crash. Never use a car seat unless you are completely certain of its history. 6. Going forward-facing too soonLucy: For once my child enjoyed the car seat! It was snug and cosy yet breathable and not too restricting. I really enjoyed the recline functions on this seat and felt that this saved it a little from the fact it doesn't have the option of rearward facing. Settling my little one in her car seat for a journey has become much easier due to the lovely, soft material and padding of the car seat. It so far has also been quite easy to wipe down!
