About this deal

James became a successful producer of 26 films. The first movie he produced was 1971’s The Corpse Grinders. In addition to Corpse Grinders, Peter James has also produced such movies as Under Milk Wood, Dead of Night, Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things, Spanish Fly, Jericho Mansions, Head in the Clouds, and The Bridge of San Luis Rey. He was the executive producer of 2004’s take on Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. There is a lot, too much, medical information given tbh and lots of gynaecological references throughout and it would be easy to get bogged down with this if let yourself, then again it is a book based around medicine and hospitals so guess there is a fine line on how detailed to go?

The writing is sharp and crisp. The characters are secretive, obsessive, and impulsive. And the plot is a disturbingly eerie tale of control, obsession, deception, jealousy, betrayal, depravity, senseless violence, and murder.I’ve read lots of books that feature stalkers in all shapes sizes and forms but Marcus is truly one of the most ‘weaselly’ of characters, petulant, childish, whiney, self centred and arrogant All in all a dark book about a man who appears to be the epitome of all that is great when actually he is the reverse, and then some

Georgina Maclean or Georgie, as she is better known as, is the jogger who Marcus narrowly misses, and one look at her kindles a long-smoldering fire within his mind. During his teenage years, he used to obsess over a girl called Lynette, and his short tryst and subsequent break-up with her, left him feeling completely shortchanged and he had never really stopped thinking about her or moved on from wanting her. Despite the decades that have passed by, medical education, and many positive turns his life has taken since then, his love and desire for Lynette, remain unrequited. In Georgie, he finds such a likeness to Lynette, he initially is convinced it is Lynette. The book is set in Jersey and portrays the island really well and conjures up a wonderful relaxed image in your mind Now the book is easy to guess, at every juncture but didn’t bother me at all and heightened the excitement as knew what was about to happen I Follow You is a fast-paced, sinister thriller that takes you into the life of Georgie MacLean, an avid runner whose use of social media and an online running app makes it extremely easy for the man who seems harmless and like he has it all, a beautiful wife, three darling children, and a successful career to always know when and where she will be. It took me a little longer to get into the flow of this thriller, though I put that down to the Jersey setting - even his Cold Hill books are set in Sussex.Georgie is finally happy. Having met the man of her dreams with lots of exciting things happening, she has the beginnings of all she ever dreamt of. Little does she know that she has fallen on someone else’s radar. Someone who is keen to turn her dreams into theirs ... Dead Man’s Time calls Roy Grace in once more. This time it’s for a burglary that has taken over a million pounds worth of loot. It has also left an elderly man who lives there dying. As Grace shows up on the scene, it’s clear that the family does not care so much about the valuables so much as one valuable in particular. They will do anything to get it. They don’t care about breaking the law and Grace is thrown into a hot pursuit that takes him through Europe and eventually all the way to New York. On his way to work he is rushing through traffic as he’s running late and nearly hits a blonde woman who is out running. When he sees her his world stops as she looks just like Lynette, his first love.

Despite all his attempts to resist, he is consumed by cravings for this woman. And when events take a tragically unexpected turn, his obsession threatens to destroy both their worlds. But still he won’t stop. Can’t stop. Detective Superintendent Roy Grace is brought on to the case and grows suspicious when the one friend who wasn’t out celebrating refuses to collaborate on the case. All of a sudden, a motive surfaces, and Michael’s near accident may not be so accidental after all. In Looking Good Dead, published in 2006, Tom Bryce finds an apparently lost cd and decides to try to return it to its owner. But when his mission to return the cd leads to him witnessing a ghastly homicide, his family is threatened if he decides to go to the police. Meanwhile, Roy Grace is still haunted by his missing wife. It’s been nearly ten years since she disappeared.Peter James is a British best selling writer of fictional crime novels. He has had six UK Sunday Times #1 books consecutively due to this series. Peter James was born on August 22, 1948 in Brighton, Sussex, England. His mother Cornelia James was the Queen’s Glovemaker.
