About this deal

Escape: The Curse of the Temple is a real time game in which you and your fellow players have 10 minutes to escape a cursed temple before it collapses. You’ll achieve this by rolling your five dice, which will enable you to discover and explore the temple chamber by chamber. You’ll activate magic gems to break the temple’s curse and then find the exit chamber and escape. I enjoy playing tile laying games where you explore areas and this did fit the bill. It is played in real time and I have played 2,3 & 4 player games of it. A game will take 10 mins from start to finish as each player frantically rolls their dice AT THE SAME TIME over and over again to get the Symbols they require to move around and complete tasks in the labyrinth. Escape: The Curse of the Temple is real time game, which means you’re not going to be waiting patiently for your turn. Everyone’s going to be in a dice-rolling frenzy, all at the same time. Escape: The Curse of the Temple is as much of an adrenaline rush as….well, actually escaping a collapsing cursed temple!

For the expansion, the process is pretty much the same – just replace the 13 ‘basic’ chamber tiles (the ones that aren’t the entrance, exit or special gem chambers) with the curse and treasure tiles before carrying out the steps above. Then shuffle up the curse cards and the treasure tiles and place them to the side of the playing area. Once the exit tile is drawn you simply have to get all of your gems into a magic altar, then each player must get onto the exit tile. If you all make it before the final sounds of the temple sealing shut play through your speakers you all escape and win, if even one person is left behind you all fail.Chaos PAP and Danu Statues: Treyarch, Pepergogo, Scobalula, DTZxPorter, Madgaz, HarryBo21, Frost Iceforge, Zeroy, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sphynx After a player has escaped, he no longer needs all of his tools, so he can give one of his dice to any adventurer still inside the temple. This adventurer may use the die immediately. We have people in our gaming group that don’t enjoy that aspect of it, but I find the immersive feelings integral to the experience. That’s the challenge: you don’t just have to escape, but you have to escape NOW. Many good games contain a strong mechanic paired with a good story. The goal of the game is to let you experience the story with the mechanic. And if any game is dedicated to replicating the experience of the story, that game is Escape!.

Place the gem depot to the side with gems on it; the number of gems depends on the number of players. Also, place two gems next to the depot. Start the CD (or the sand timer) and you're ready to escape! Since it’s a cooperative board game, Escape is a great game to play with the whole family. While we don’t recommend it for kids under 5, we do recommend it for everyone else. Escape: The Curse of the Temple is a real time game in which you and your fellow players have 10 minutes to escape a cursed temple before it collapses. You’ll achieve this by rolling your five dice, which will enable you to discover and explore the temple chamber by chamber. You'll activate magic gems to break the temple’s curse and then find the exit chamber and escape. Adventurers gain distinct skills to differentiate them. Treasures show up to help you. A variety of wonky and unbalanced curses pop up to hinder players. Pit traps. Disappearing chambers. Dungeons. Fountains. Gear and calendar chambers. And the real game changers, Quests. Tiles with different tasks that players must complete before escaping the temple. Now, it's not just about dropping gems for a somewhat anti-climactic exit. The temple gains a life of its own and a modularity akin to Spirit Island or Onirim. Players must reach this decision unanimously! A turn of fate can be provoked only twice during the course of the game.Although each game only takes ten minutes, you'll rarely play it only once – particularly if the temple keeps collapsing on top of you. And even if you escape easily, it’s straightforward to ramp up the difficulty – just add more gems to the gem depot or swap the basic chambers for the curses and treasures versions. In Escape: the Curse of the Temple, every player gets 5 dice of the color of their explorer. You must roll the dice to enter rooms, collect gems and help out your fellow explorers.
