Osprey Farpoint Trek FAQs Osprey Farpoint VS Osprey Farpoint Trek – Which Should I Choose? The Farpoint and the Farpoint Trek, which one is for you? But if you are going on a longer and more adventurous trip, I think the Farpoint Trek 55 will work really well. The padding is comfortable. I carried it stuffed full of all my gear on the four day Santa Cruz Trek in the Cordillera Blancas of Peru and the padding and clips helped ease the burden a lot. It is available in just two sizes, both of which are too big to be considered a carry-on. And that is one reason why I’m not so impressed with the travel aspect of this bag.

But if you don’t spend a lot of time outdoors, then you’re better off with the classic Farpoint. It’s better suited for travel, and it is available in more sizes. The outside of the Farpoint Trek 75 is covered in various attachment points for extra gear. From the daisy chain style loops to the mount points for the rain cover, Osprey have covered all their bases here. Since I am a dude I can’t speak from personal experience here, but many women travelers I’ve met have told me they love this edition.

Osprey Farpoint 55 Review: My Experience

The Farpoint series is technically unisex, but there is now also the Osprey Fairview 40. This is a women’s specific edition with some tweaks for extra comfort. So, I literally live out of this bag and have for three years of full-time travel through more than 20 countries. Integrated compression system. While the regular Farpoint which has no internal organization features, the Trek does have several. It used to be that the Farpoint 55 wasn’t carry-on compliant and it had some other points against it that made it a less attractive option, but now they are much more of a match. When reviewing the Farpoint Trek 55, it occurred to me that it could be part of a very cool set-up for long-term travel.

Support for a water bladder. A water system for trekking is not included, but you can easily add one if you want. No, there is just one size. It used to have a S/M and a M/L version but no longer. There is now only one size: O/S. By the way, the Trek version of the Farpoint does not have an S/M or M/L version, since it can be adjusted to any height.

There are also 70-liter versions, though I personally consider these too large for general travel purposes. Features of the Farpoint Trek 55 The Farpoint 55 Trek is ideal if you’re looking for a bag that you can use for travel and potentially for trekking as well. Then perhaps I can offer some help, because I’ve used and reviewed nearly all versions of the Farpoint line-up. Whether to buy the Farpoint or Fairview 55 or another version depends on your space requirements and whether you’re into the 2-in-1 system. You can consider several configurations based on your needs:

The Farpoint 55 and Fairview 55 are essentially the same product; the only difference is that the Fairview is a women’s specific version. On the plus side, though, the lifetime warranty means I can get it patched for free. The only reason I haven’t is that the material is so high-quality the hole hasn’t grown at all in two years and I forget it’s there! As a flight cover, the AirCover feels a little baggy. Unless your bag is crammed to capacity, the AirCover will sag and not look great but the protection it offers is certainly worth the downgrade in appearance. As a rain shield, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it fit.

The Farpoint 55 Trek is not only for trekking, but it’s definitely a lot more suitable for it than the other Farpoint editions. It’s much more comfortable, has better padding, and has an integrated rain cover. When product pictures of the new Farpoint got released, I saw many comments on forums comparing it to the Osprey Porter. They do look a bit similar in pictures, but the Farpoint is absolutely NOT as structured or as stiff as the Porter. But I think the best fit for this bag is actually round-the-world or gap-year travelers who will travel mostly overland. The latest edition has an adjustable harness. This means you can move the harness up or down by up to about 3 inches or 8cm. Plus, the extra clips on the front and bottom meant I could strap a sleeping bag and a tent to the outside which was great when my bag was full. Although the Farpoint/Fairview series isn’t necessarily designed for hiking, they are comfortable enough to take on hikes during your travels. Where to buy Osprey Farpoint 55
