About this deal

In this version of the Olight Baton 3 Pro flashlight is probably a Luminus SST-40 emitter, just like we saw on the S2R Baton II. But Olight doesn’t say. Either way, that emitter is coupled with a TIR and provides a very pleasantbeam profile. The Seeker 3 Pro was one of Olight’s most popular torches, and the Seeker 4 Pro improves on it with a little extra brightness, and USB-C charging – albeit with the accompanying holster. I’d still like to see USB-C integrated into the torch itself somehow. And I would have also liked to have seen a new battery with extra capacity for longer runtimes. Especially considering I wasn’t able to confirm Olight’s runtime claims, in turbo mode at least. Please note: *The above data is measured in lab conditions, therefore results may vary due to environmental and heat dissipation conditions. The active thermal management system will decrease the output in turbo and high to protect the LED from overheating.

If you’ve used an Olight before, the user interface will be familiar to you. With the torch on, press and hold the power button to cycle between low, medium and high mode. The last used mode is memorised when you turn the torch on. If you double press the power button with the torch on or off, you’ll get to the 4600 lumen turbo mode. There’s no proximity sensor like on the Baton 3 Pro Max. But if you return the torch to its holster it will drop to its high mode from turbo. There’s also a timer mode. Choose the brightness level and double press holding the second press. The torch will blink once or twice alternatively each time you do this. One blink for a 3 minute timer, 2 blinks for a 9 minute timer. It’ll switch itself off automatically after 3 or 9 minutes. This is useful if you have the torch hanging in a tent or use it as a bedside light. For reference, here’s a baseline shot, with all the room lights off and almost nothing hitting the sensor. Also, here’s the light with the worst PWM I could find. I’m adding multiple timescales, so it’ll be easier to compare to the test light. Unfortunately, the PWM on this light is so bad that it doesn’t even work with my normal scale, which is 50 microseconds (50us). 10ms. 5ms. 2ms. 1ms. 0.5ms. 0.2ms. In a display faster than 0.2ms or so, the on/off cycle is more than one screen, so it’d just (very incorrectly) look like a flat line. I wrote more about this Ultrafire WF-602C flashlight and explained a little about PWM too. User Interface and Operation of the Olight Baton 3 Pro Silver Ridge Flashlight Here’s really the main issue with this emitter. It’s green. This is more noticeable in the low modes. In the highest couple of levels, it’s trending toward “ok”, but the positive Duv on the lower modes is not something I look for in an emitter. Upgraded Proximity Sensor: The optimized optical system allows the hidden proximity sensor to protect you without being oversensitive or affecting the light's beam pattern, and you can also disable the sensor temporarily or permanently.Too many flashlights come with no battery level indicators. It’s mainly because it complicates the circuit design. But it’s this indicator that saves your battery low-voltage damage.

Since the .5 lumen Moonbeam mode is so dim, here it is viewing directly into the lens. This amount of light on a dark wall does not photograph easily. It’s usefully dim. You can see how its beam compares to the Olight Baton 3 Pro Max, the Thrunite T2 and the Seeker 3 Pro below. All these torches run off a 21700 battery. In use I really couldn’t see any difference between the Seeker 3 Pro and this new model. ConclusionsIt has a very easy user interface. Just press the button on the recessed side switch to turn it on. Hold the button to scroll through power outputs. Baton 3 Pro Max Lighting Keep in mind that the Baton 3 Pro is an upgrade from the S2R Baton II and is the best option compared to the Baton 3 and Baton Pro. I told you there were 12 operational modes, the same 6 operations modes under two different color temperatures.

Want more time to run the light? Drop down to level three, or 120 lumens, and the light runs for an impressive 23 hours. For most close-in work, I found that level three is very suitable. Branded flashlights are all about power; their marketing strategy’s foundation is how powerful the light is. So, how powerful do you think the Baton Pro 3 is?Finally there’s a strobe operated with a triple press of the power button with the torch on or off. Performance The Olight Baton 3 Pro Silver Ridge is now available! It’s a rechargeable flashlight using an 18650 cell and offers high output and a familiar user interface. The Baton 3 I own once lasted for 2 weeks. So, when I heard Baton 3 Pro was coming, I expected at least a month. How long do you think a full battery of Baton 3 Pro is supposed to last?
