Yes. Just a yes. If a sequel does come out, you'll definitely catch me watching this again in preparation for it. Here's to hoping more Japanese films play internationally! If I had to have one "complaint", I would have enjoyed this as a drama! There is so much lore and questions left unanswered that a 12-16 episode drama would definitely have me hooked. The show continues on by adding conflicts external to our couple, caused by her family’s own grievances when they find how happy Miyo is and other elements that develop as we learn more about the various gifts characters have and the power struggle to have clans hold the strongest gifts through political, arranged marriages. These challenges lead to issues that make Miyo second guess her own worth. Through and through, the show continues to challenge Miyo as these problems that felt like were hinted to develop from the beginning of the series get thrown upon her. Both her own growth and her growing intimacy with Kudo feel organic and earned. Miyo finds herself in the dream world of the Saimori residence. There, she confronts her other self. When Miyo's other self dissuades her, Miyo declares that she will not run away and promises that she will save Kiyoka. Soon after, using Kiyoka's kumihimo as her guide, Miyo manages to find him in an endless battle against the Grotesqueries. Elsewhere, the Emperor is informed of Miyo's attempt to rescue Kiyoka. When the Emperor tries to destroy Miyo and Kiyoka in the dream world, their combined power overwhelms and defeats him as the Grotesqueries are destroyed. After Miyo and Kiyoka are awake, Arata reassures her that she is still part of the Usuba family while Kiyoka tells him that they will have a rematch someday. The next day, Prince Takaihito reveals to General Ookaito that the Emperor is responsible for releasing the Grotesqueries while planning to have his father atone for his actions in the future. Miyo and Kiyoka return to their daily lives. Several days later, they both attend the party. No and I don't know. The only villain that we already know the past is Kaya, we don't know about her mother, her father, related to why they do that to Miyo. For Kaya, she was given mindset since she was child that she is always above Miyo in everything, she is always right, this was explained by male lead so if you think she is simply bad because she is bad PLEASE READ AGAIN PROPERLY.

What does this show want to be, a josei/shojo love romance story or a battle shounen story? Not so say that you cannot interweave them together , but there wasn't enough time to properly develop either. not being special. Throughout the movie, Kiyoka and Miyo have some really cute moments with each other, with patient Kiyoka slowly encouraging Miyo to come out of her shell, and Miyo learning to express herself. One of the best scenes in the movie is when Miyo was kidnapped and being tortured to give up Kiyoka; refusing to do so, and Kiyoka literally BURNING DOWN THE ENTIRE ESTATE TO FIND HER. It really shows how much their relationship developed. And although there wasn't a dramatic "I love you" confession scene, or a kiss, this is one of the rare times that I thought it wasn't necessary. While you could tell that the main genre wasn't romance, the movie did a good job balancing it with the action and historical elements. The world and power system is barely touched upon, which in turn only serves to make the characters more forgettable, because nothing seems to make enough sense. At most, there is a hereditary component to powers and powers evolve. Sort of like quirks, but in a more wishy washy manner. Oh, and the character motivations feel weak, the families are just in general very weird and underexplored, and the dynamics between them... they feel kind of dull?

Her inner thought is exactly my thought on daily basis. The way she always think in negative way even if someone say something normal, the way she is easily influenced when someone begin to say even a bit of negative thing, the way she always apologize even if she doesn't need to, it's just same as me. As soon as the movie was announced, I immediately went to read the manga. Seeing as the manga isn't completed yet, the movie did a great job with pacing and making sure the ending was both satisfying, yet ambiguous.
