Harry Potter is 25 years old and the Royal Mint has created a collection of coins to commemorate this. The first coin is Harry Potter himself. This coin is the Gold 50p piece, with 15.5g of 916.67 Fine Gold. Diameter 27.3mm. As the last coin in the series to feature Queen Elizabeth II’s effigy, collectors were eager to get their hands on the Hogwarts Express 50p!

The Gold 50p is 22 carat and weighs 15.5g. The diameter is 27.3mm. The coins usually have a very limited edition mintage. The four-coin collection will feature coinage portraits of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Majesty The King. These first coins were designed long before the death of our Queen. The first 2 coins in the collection feature Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait, and the final 2 will feature the King. Who designed the coins?
