It does seem extremely comfortable, my son has fallen asleep a few times already and we’ve only been on fairly short journeys. Why? What do we love about it? It’s easy to think ‘seen one, seen them all’ when it comes to car seats but while the bold, snazzy print and quirky design features of my old seat initially held more appeal than the under-stated look of the Excalibur, it turns out the Excalibur is just much more versatile, and exponentially more comfortable. The Cozy N Safe Excalibur Group 1, 2, 3 Car Seat is a multistage car seat with 4-point recline suitable for forward facing from 9 to 36kg which is 9 months to 11 years approximately. Fitting instructions are essential to ensure that the children’s car seat has been fitted correctly.Always be sure that your car seat and base are fitted correctly and are compatible with your child and car. Always refer to your instruction manual. If you make a longer trip ensure that you take regular breaks to allow your little one to stretch out for a while away from their car seat. Anything that allows a three-year-old to indulge their love of doing things independently is nothing short of brilliant in my book.
The soft padding for younger babies is excellent, as is the side impact protection which made our daughter feel very comfortable. She struggled to stay awake in the seat. Being slightly critical, I would have liked the manual to have explained each kind of fitting separately, for example, ‘Instructions for Group 2 with ISOFIX’ or ‘Group 2 without ISOFIX’, just to make it clearer as it would have saved a little bit of head scratching. I’ve got to start this review with a slightly embarrassing confession. When asked to review the Cozy N Safe Excalibur Group 1/2/3 car seat, I was fairly confident that nothing could compare to the car seat I was already using. An adjustable headrest offers an amazing 14 positions and removable inserts ensures the best fit for your growing child no matter their height. All the covers are made from luxurious materials which can be removed easily for cleaning at 30°C. In the box was the seat, infant insert, manual and special ISOFIX connectors. On initial inspection, I have to say it really looks the part and seems like a strong yet comfortable seat. Installation There are two ways to fit the Excalibur — either using the adult seat belt or with Isofix and top tether. The side impact protection is very generous which is a great feature and the whole seat is very sturdy and strong. It feels robust and like it’s very good quality!
