About this deal

Lime Juice– a sour ingredient, as well as a tropical edge to this recipe. Remember, fresh squeezed juice is best! Red Food Coloring (totally optional), but if you want a darker blood color, then add a few drops of red food coloring for effect!

If you want something easy and non-alcoholic for the kiddos, try my Goosebumps Punch recipe! More Halloween Party Ideas! I’ve made fake blood in the past. A few years ago I made a fun Halloween popcorn and called it bloody bones popcorn. I realized the same mixture I used to cover the popcorn would also harden and appear like blood and dare I say flesh. Ewww, right? It works great if you are making the popcorn already but it makes a lot and it is very hot so you have to be careful. It also takes a bit more effort to wash so I wanted to come up with the easiest way to make fake blood. Red chili, left whole but pierced a few times. Skip this ingredient if you want your drink less spicy. Making a non-alcoholic variation of a classic holiday punch can be as easy as eating a healthy breakfast! This is a non-alcoholic punch drink that works for big and small parties! It is a simple mix in a large pitcher or a large punch bowl, then guests serve themselves. This blood punch recipe does not contain any alcohol, but it will give anyone a good scare. Each ingredient is combined to make the perfect bloody punch. The gruesome blood bags are so much fun for a spooky season party. They are the perfect scary themed drinks. You can also blend colors to achieve a green color. Obviously yellow and blue make green, so the easiest way to achieve that is blue curacao and orange juice or pineapple juice. You can adjust the color of the green by changing the ratio of ingredients. Usually more orange or yellow than blue, as it’s the stronger color. Other Fruit Juices– if you don’t have pineapple juice, you can try orange juice or apple cider. You can sub lemon juice for lime juice, too. When you make this Halloween drink there will be some foam at the top from pouring and the soda. I tried just using juice and this still occurred. The process of filling the blood bags with the syringe will add lots of air into your fake IV bag anyway, so they can’t be avoided by opting for non carbonated drinks. (You might be able to if you added the punch super slowly with the syringe but that would be very time consuming.) Midori– Midori is a sweet melon liqueur that is flavored with Japanese muskmelons. It has a sweet and earthy melon flavor, plus is bright green.

So really, this drink is a Red Russian, made with just two ingredients: vodka and cherry liqueur. If you’re not a big cherry fan, you can also use strawberry schnapps.Simple Syrup– an optional ingredient, but depending on how sweet your pineapple and lime juices are, you may want to add a dash of homemade simple syrup to the recipe. Simmer for 5 mins, then turn off the heat. You may want to strain the punch through a fine sieve if the spice residue bothers you.

Blood Bag Tip: I recommend moving the clip down a bit from what is shown above so that it is easy to take a drink without hitting the clip.Other flavors– you could sub the vodka for some rum, you could even add fresh lemon juice or lime juice. If it isn’t sweet enough, you can add some simple syrup, but all ideas will make for a happy Halloween!

Blood Bag Tip: Your blood bags drinks would look awesome hanging up on a hook like a real I.V. bag as an alternative to the clear caddy.Cool, right? This may have been done before by someone else but I refuse to look that up to find out. I am proud of myself for coming up with the idea and I’d rather live in a bubble where I’m the first one. Included with my blood bags was a syringe with a very narrow opening that holds 50 millimeters of liquid. That works out to be just under 3 ounces of punch so you’ll need to repeat this process several times to fill up a single blood bag. I found that around 5 times to be just about right so they weren’t overfilled. Filling the Blood Bags– We found that each bag takes about 2.5 syringes full of liquid. Snap the clip closed to stop liquid from coming out of the straws. Try not to overfill. Orange peel – for a boost in color and taste, you can stir in some juice from blood oranges if you have any available or the peel from a couple of limes.
