Durability: Like the coat, Arc’teryx calls the Zeta SL an “emergency shell.” But with 40 denier ripstop nylon I’m not concerned about durability if standard use is confined to trail walking. We have been using Nikwax products since day one (26 th March 1986) and have found them to be totally reliable, dependable and effective. Today’s Nikwax treatments contain environmentally friendly elastic water-repellent polymers that bond to fabric fibres, leaving the spaces between open and breathable. These stretchy polymers are able to stretch and move with the fabric so they stay put for longer and work better. Gore-Tex with Paclite Plus construction provides excellent weather protection and is quite comfortable. Durability: The 20 denier for the coat and 40 denier for the pants feel robust enough to last for years. Gore-Tex with C-Knit construction is soft and supple against the skin and great when paired with just a t-shirt, which many hikers will appreciate.

With a feature-rich build, top-notch build quality, and accommodating fit, the Zeta AR is a versatile and tough shell for a variety of activities and seasons.If, on the other hand, you either (1)want something even more durable than the Beta AR, (2)will be hiking in quite severe weather and/or (3) want something baggier to maximize your under layering options, then Beta SV ( Men's- Women's) can be an amazing choice for you.
