About this deal

Rodents often gnaw into wall materials at corners or where joints in construction materials provide an edge. Poor construction techniques may allow rodents to gain access through materials that are otherwise considered rodent-proof. It is a highly affordable way to stop rats from entering your home through the toilet. The price of the unit itself plus our charge for fitting is extremely cost-efficient. Doors should fit tightly, the distance between the bottom of the door and the threshold not exceeding 1/4 inch (0.6 cm). In some instances, it is possible to build up the threshold rather than modify the door. Please note this unit is NOT suitable for an outlet pipe into manhole, it will only be suitable for the pipe that exits manhole to sewer, therefore you need to locate last chamber before sewer. Below, we have outlined the properties of some commonly employed meshes. These include mesh to prevent the passage of rodents (both rats and mice), insects (including specifically midges) and for use in beekeeping applications. Of note, much of the information below has been advised to us by the British Pest Control Association (BPCA). Rodent Mesh (rats and mice)

Gaps or flaws along building exteriors where the wall framing or siding meets the foundation provide easy entry for rodents. Such openings can be pre-vented by well-formed and finished concrete work and installation of tight wall framing and siding, or installing metal screed-type flashing between the siding and the foundation. Use of rodent-proof exterior surface materials such as concrete, plaster, or metal sheeting is also effective if properly installed so that all ribs or corrugations are closed. Entry Barrier to Rodents - Kevlar and knitted steel mesh core combination (unique to Rentokil UK) is flexible yet strong enough to prevent gnawing rodents creating entrance gaps under pedestrian and roller shutter doors. The MultiFlap is a one-way non-return valve that fits easily to the exit pipe from your house to the street sewer. This means waste still goes out from your house, but immediately after the waste water has gone, the flap closes to prevent anything nasty coming up the wrong way. The prevention method and the ease with which the MultiFlap can be installed makes these products truly unique. Targeted Rodent Proofing– by preventing rodent ingress in these vulnerable areas and removing opportunities for them to nest and find refuge, you minimise the risk of pest activity and limit the potential spread of infestations inside your premises.Rats are great at climbing and swimming, and can hold their breath for long enough that it allows them to travel from one location to another through sewage pipes and drains. Whats The Advantage Of Using A Rat Flap? We sell standard insect mesh in various widths. The narrower width rolls (50 mm to 400 mm) we describe as soffit vent mesh or simply soffit mesh. Regardless of the name, this mesh is identical to standard insect mesh. Soffit vent mesh is available to buy in our online shop soffit mesh category. Midge Mesh Figure 22. Guards can be used to prevent rats from climbing augers, pipes, or wires leading to buildings. Footings or foundations for grain bins should extend into the ground to prevent rat burrowing.

Rentokil’s Flexi Armour range provides sustainable rodent proofing solutions to help protect buildings internally and externally. By utilising hard wearing, flexible Kevlar and knitted steel mesh, Flexi Armour provides impenetrable barriers that prevent rats and mice entering your premises. An integral part of the Flexi Armour Range is the rodent door proofing solutions we offer for both pedestrian doors and commercial roller shutter doors. These door proofing options offer a sustainable approach to Integrated Pest Management by restricting rodent intrusions into your business. They are designed to be effective against the consequences to your home of drain flooding after heavy rainfall or burst water mains. Properly applied flashing extends to within 1/8 inch (0.3 cm) of the edge of the door at the sides and bottom. Close the gap at the top or sides of roll-up doors with conveyor belt material shaped to fit into the side channel frames and mounted on the top door jamb. Bent bottom rails on doors should be straightened. Concrete dam-age due to inadequate reinforcement or poor placement practices should be repaired or the concrete replaced. A metal or pipe threshold is sometimes preferable or required. The Rat Barrier was initially developed to help combat flooding problems in the UK but is now being used to prevent rodent ingress into buildings, both commercial and domestic. The valve is now used to prevent the following:

Next working day delivery is not available for the Scottish Highlands and some remote areas where an additional charge may apply.Rentokil Flexi Armour Expansion proofing is a durable combination of flexible yet hard wearing knitted steel mesh with a self-levelling and tough epoxy resin (unique to Rentokil). This sustainable proofing solution is used to eliminate gaps in expansion joints on floors and walls. It seals these narrow spaces preventing rodents from using them as unseen ‘pest highways’ to move through your facility in search of food and harbourages. Flexi Armour Expansion has the flexibility to allow the joints to expand and contract, yet is robust enough to be impenetrable to rodent gnawing. Firstly, it is very important to note that rodent mesh is not the same as insect mesh. These meshes are not interchangeable. Rodent mesh is relatively much tougher. Rat mesh and mouse mesh is also more expensive because it contains more metal. Conversely, insect mesh is cheaper, lighter, is woven with fine wires and has much smaller holes. Rats and mice will gnaw through insect mesh with ease. Rat Mesh In the unusual event where delivery is repeatedly refused or no effort is made to accept delivery, we reserve the right to pass delivery and return courier costs to the customer.

The valves do not require any maintenance as they are made using 316L grade stainless steel, and once fitted you can rest assured it will do its job for up to 20 or more years.Proofing door gaps - restricts rodent activity and therefore help reduce rodenticide usage, as infestations are reduced. Mice can fit through surprisingly small spaces. As such, we recommend mesh that has a hole size no greater than 6 mm x 6 mm. As a general rule of thumb, if you can get a biro through a hole a mouse can fit through too. If you’re not looking to stop rats and mice are the only concern then our galvanised mouse mesh will likely do the job. This can be bought in our online shop here. Mouse mesh should always have a maximum hole size of 6 mm x 6mm. Audit Compliance– proofing expansion joint gaps supports your audit compliance by proactively minimising the risks associated with internal mouse and rat activity. This in turn reduces the need to use rodenticide within your facility to control infestationsas you arerestricting rodent access. The first and most important advantage of using it is that once it is fitted inside your drain, you can be sure that rats will never be able to enter your home . Tighter UK restrictions on rodenticides use (CRRU) - targeted proofing provides compliance with CRRU regulations, reducing environmental impact on UK wildlife by preventing rodent ingress and therefore reducing the need to use rodenticide.
