While our parent tester Luci would have expected more luxurious fabrics and a newborn insert included for the price, she found the range of motions and sounds to be very impressive. There is a slight whirring noise when the MamaRoo is moving but Luci didn’t find this disruptive. Does it have any extra features?

Lucy has reviewed a wide range of baby bouncers over the years and as such is well versed to recognise the key features that are beneficial to parents. Luci’s first impressions of the MamaRoo were mixed. With a modern design, the 4Moms MamaRoo 5.0 has a simple white base and silver frame with a grey/silver cover. Luci felt that the design wasn’t particularly attractive, with the fabric less premium than she would have expected given the significant price tag. Mumsnet user Terriblecreature agrees, saying “My little boy loved this and gave me a second to get a shower etc. Worth the hefty price tag in my opinion.” About the author While both feature 5 unique motions that bounce up and down and sway from side to side, just like parents do, the mamaRoo sleep bassinet and the mamaRoo infant seat have different uses to provide baby the comfort or entertainment they need. If you opt for a swing, look for one that has a detachable bouncer. This will allow you to remove the seat and take it on the go with you.
