Hidden in Plain Sight: Palpatine as always. Luceno also adds a new layer to Palpatine's secret trolling with the reveal that one of the statues he installed in the Chancellor's Office is actually an ancient demigod of disguise. Trimmed the buzz droid sequence. This and other trims serve to downplay Obi-Wan’s familiarity with R2 somewhat. a b c "Three Books In One: The Dark Lord Trilogy". StarWars.com. January 28, 2008. Thanks to Snooker and Sir Ridley, removed R2 and 3PO from the birth of the twins. This eases continuity tensions with the original trilogy, avoiding awkward questions like, “Shouldn’t R2 have recognized Yoda on Dagobah?” Still, most of the book holds up – if somewhat shakily at times – in terms of EU continuity. (Disney hasn’t told its version of Palpatine’s kidnapping yet.) One of the fun things about being a Lucas-era “Star Wars” fan is playing armchair retconner, and I have retcons for most of the oddities in this book: Unknown Maul

Probably the only reason this does not receive a full five stars is the apparent conflictions with the Clone Wars Animated Shorts (almost as good as the movies). In the shorts, the end is completely different than that in Labyrinth of Evil. Anakin and Obi-Wan are on completely different systems with completely different reasons for being there. I still wonder how this is reconciled in Star Wars canon. On the other hand, a lot of things were trimmed that I absolutely agreed with. Scenes that went on for way too long such as the Mustafar duel, the rescue of Chancellor Palpatine, and faceoff with Grievous, scenes and dialogue that were clunky and irreparable due to either poor acting or pacing such as Anakin's slaughter of children (you know, just in case you couldn't already tell he was evil), Chewbacca's forced insertion into the film, and even the laughable duel between Palpatine and Yoda. Surprisingly enough, I found this pre-movie novel to be both well-written and quite engaging. I would have liked there to have been more character and motivational development, but unfortunately, it seems that Separatist and Sith characters are never flushed out, as they must be portrayed as evil and corrupt as possible (which I don't agree with at all, but it's canon and I cannot change that). However, Labyrinth of Evil is more audacious and intricate than most of the Star Wars prequel novels, and I believe it to be because of James Luceno's fluid writing, which is not difficult to read but still contains the subtlety you'd find in a good novel.

Anakin and Palpatine don't mention Padme during the knighting of Vader scene. Other dialogue is trimmed a little for effectiveness. The idea is that saving Padme's life is the spark that ignites a myriad of other factors for Anakin's turn toward evil. Anakin and Palpatine don’t mention Padme during the knighting of Vader scene. Other dialogue is trimmed a little for effectiveness. The idea is that saving Padme’s life is the spark that ignites a myriad of other factors for Anakin’s turn toward evil. Trimmed dialogue as Windu and his gang confront Palpatine. It reads, "Are you threatening me, Master Jedi?""Not yet." It's Star Wars, so you don't get a long review. The audiobooks by Random House come complete with sound effects and music. They're really well done. If you like audiobooks anyway, the Star Wars ones from Random House are worth your time. I never thought about mentioning my novel-edits here but I’ve made expanded editions of Darth Plagueis and Shadows Of The Empire, combining all other books, comics, short stories of those eras into one super doc. After Yoda’s brief and only use of his lightsaber in the whole trilogy, removed the scene where Anakin ignites his saber on a roomful of children. By cutting this, Anakin’s slip toward depravity can be seen as a little more gradual. Plus my version of the trilogy does away with the idea that Jedi are harvested as infants and raised in a cult environment. The term “youngling” doesn’t appear in these edits.

Awesome by Analysis: Thanks to his brain being technologically enhanced, Grievous manages to copy a few of Mace's Vaapad techniques during the Battle of Coruscant. VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon. Author Hal 9000 Time 27-Feb-2014 2:40PM Post link It's been a learning experience from beginning to end, and your enjoyment of them is what it's all about. That, and being able to sit through these awful movies myself. Hopefully Episode VII won't require breaking out the 'contingency' versions, though I'm ready for that possibility. Even though they contain a few references to the prophecy, it's still much more vague and could allow for the interpretation that it actually referred to Luke. oh my god this is so good. hals pacing is incredible, perfectly cutting through this story (that originally was bloated not just on a scene to scene basis but in the construction of individual scenes themselves). this is all the more impressive because of the integration of the deleted padmé subplot: singlehandedly making her an actual character in this movie. excellent stuff. Obi-Wan never refers to R2 by name. It’s not much, but it’s a small way to gloss over the tension between the continuity of the PT and OT.While Kenobi and Skywalker pursue the constructor of the chair, General Grievous is commanded by Sidious through his apprentice Darth Tyranus to relocate the Separatist Council to Belderone, where a Republic fleet lies in wait for them. Furious, Grievous learns that Gunray lost the holotransceiver. Republic Intelligence find the signature of the artist that designed the mechno-chair that Sidious provided Gunray. Kenobi and Skywalker seek out the artist, a Xi Charrian, who tells them to find the designer, contracted by Sidious, to build the holotransceiver built into the mechno-chair. The Jedi find the designer in a prison, where he tells them that he built two holotransceivers, one for the mechno-chair, another for a ship of unknown design. The designer knows the identity of the pilot that delivered the ship to its owners ( Darth Maul and Sidious). The pilot, a Lethan Twi'lek, is discovered on a moon by the Jedi, and she describes to the Jedi the location of the delivered ship: a columnar building in The Works, a desolate industrial park on Coruscant. Chewbacca’s onscreen appearances have been altered to either remove him or disguise him by recoloring his fur and adding alternate clothing.
