The focus ring is very broad and sits across the middle of the lens. It’s covered in a rubber coating with a ridged texture and has a smooth glide like butter. Serious macro shooting is often done with manual focus. Manual focus works well, with very fine control, perfect for getting the exact focus with a magnified image.
