About this deal

Ensure the surface is bare: remove any wax finishes with Liberon Wax and Polish Remover and any varnish finishes with Liberon Fine Wood Stripper. Clean, dry and ensure the surface is dust free. If required stain the wood with Liberon Palette Wood Dye before oiling. Two of our most popular oils are Teak Oil and Danish Oil, we have a great articlewhere these two oils go head to head - Teak Oil vs Danish Oil. Wood Oil Finish based on application Kitchen Worktops – Worktop Oil or use our Worktop Maintenance Kit When finishing pine, we recommend using a raw linseed oil. This type of oil will not contaminate food substances, which is perfect for pine dining tables. SFO is extremely durable; you can use it on your floors! It is mostly an oil product that soaks into wood, but it does have a bit of resin that sits on top and adds a protective barrier. Watermarks are often caused by a surface that is not well sealed, which means that the product has not been properly applied or the surface has not been properly prepared.

Liberon Finishing Oil comes in two sizes 250ml & 1 Litre. It is a blend of high quality oils for use on all interior woods and furniture. Finishing Oil is used to nourish and enhance the natural colour of the wood and it is suitable for the use on kitchen tables and bathroom furniture as it produces a hard wearing water resistant finish. It is for use on all types of bare woods and can also be applied to Cork, Stone and Terracotta. It produces a beautiful matt, satin or gloss finish depending upon the number of coats applied. How to use Liberon Finishing Oil Store Liberon Finishing Oil at a temperature above 5 °C. Always replace the lid otherwise the oil can deteriorate. Fill any holes, splits or gaps in the wood with Liberon Wood Filler or a suitable, alternative wood filler

I prefer a traditional, ‘soft’ oil finish that sets in the wood, rather than on it. These finishes are far more long-lasting. They age with the gun, weather nicely and can be replenished from time to time without the need for stripping. Harder finishes scratch and chip and soon look nasty and in need of a total refinishing.

Please note: The durability and sheen of the final finish is dependent on the number of coats applied. The more coats applied the higher the sheen and the more durable the finish will be. When finishing cedar wood, we recommend using linseed oil. This type of oil is the most popular with woodworkers, as well as cedar cladding users and craft enthusiasts.

Wood Oil Finishes

Olive oil is a non-drying vegetable based oil. It can be used as a style of polish on wood to give it a fresh rejuvenated look. However, it is best to avoid using olive oil on food storage bowls as it could spoil the food. Tung oil is pressed from the nuts of the tung tree. Raw tung cures better than raw linseed and so it is often used in this form. As tung oil yellows with age less than linseed, it is favoured for high quality and furniture work.
