About this deal

In 1931, Lawrence M. Gelb and wife Joan, along with partner James Romeo, discovered Clairol (a hair-coloring preparation) while traveling in France. They co-founded the Clairol company, and imported the product to U.S. salons. Studies have found that a natural substance in Birch Bark called betulin helps reduce inflammation in acne-prone skin. Sebopure contains a patented natural ingredient called Pixalia made from a concentrated leaf oil extract from the Cleome Gynandra (wild mustard) plant. Pixlalia has been scientifically proven as an active preserver due to naturally derived Rutin and hydroxycinnamic acid present in the plant extract. Clarol skincare contains a patented protective ingredient call Teflose®. This natural ingredient offers a protective ‘teflon’ like coating, almost like a liquid plaster, that seals off blemishes and vulnerable areas of acne prone skin from further infection from acne bacteria.

Although skin may be treated and in the process of healing, that treating and healing process is highly visible. In addition anti-bacterial agents will also reduce the effectiveness of the actual ingredient in Sebopure that works to purify the sebum.

A bioactive mattifying primer for acne-prone skin. It contains two Nordic tree bark extracts to combat oiliness, promote healthy skin microbiota and create an instantly mattified and smoother skin tone. Suggested Regimen: In 1956, after two decades of selling the company's hair tint to beauty salons, Clairol launched an at-home version of Miss Clairol Hair Color Bath and became a household name. The successful advertising campaign used to promote the new version of the product used the catchphrase, "Does she...or doesn't she? Only her hairdresser knows for sure". [5] Within six years of Miss Clairol's launch, 70% of women were coloring their hair. [ citation needed]

Acne is a complicated skin condition with no one-stop solution and so Sebopure will not always work for everyone. However there are some common mistakes people make that can reduce the effectiveness of Sebopure. We must add here that the Clarol products will NOT work as well if you are using other anti-bacterial products at the same time. Clarol skincare is a revolutionary new skincare range for acne. Clarol products contain naturally active ingredients that work in conjunction with the body’s natural resistance to acne to help fight acne and breakouts while keeping skin healthy and strong. To counter the stigma of hair color and create a wholesome, sentimental image for Clairol, early print ads—some of which were shot by fashion photographers Richard Avedon and Irving Penn—featured girl-next-door models accompanied by children with hair the same color. "Does she...or doesn't she?" became an effective slogan; within six years, 70% of all adult women were coloring their hair, and Clairol's sales increased fourfold. In 1967, Polykoff was inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame. [ citation needed] When starting to use Clarol products, most people report their skin temporarily getting slightly worse in the initial 2-3 weeks of use before it starts to improve. This is usually due to the skin readjusting to the new treatment.

Protecting areas of skin prone to acne break outs is key to stopping break outs spreading and intensifying. Having extremely sensitive skin, I always struggle to find facial products that a kind, gentle and suitable for my skin and I am always wary and cautious of any new product I try.

Clarol - Rebuiling the skin's natural defences

Clarol treats acne in a very different way to all other acne products. It doesn't fight the acne itself, instead it enforces the skin's natural acne defences. This change in approach can often mean the skin has a period of readjustment, especially if you have been using acne-fighting products previously. Along with detoxification of the skin, skin exfoliation helps remove dead and infected skin cells on the skin’s surface that can trigger acne and helps skin re-generate new and healthy skin cells.

Clairol's one-step home hair color was a breakthrough in the beauty industry, as was its advertising campaign. Clairol hired the advertising firm Foote, Cone & Belding, which assigned the account to junior copywriter Shirley Polykoff, the only female copywriter at the firm. Polykoff's future mother-in-law inspired the "Does she...or doesn't she?" slogan. After meeting Polykoff for the first time, she took her son aside and asked him about the true color of his girlfriend's hair. "Does she color her hair, or doesn't she?" the embarrassed Polykoff could imagine her mother-in-law-to-be asking. Although Polykoff did color her hair, the practice was not something to which women openly admitted during the Depression, when her future mother-in-law first asked the question. In 1956 when Polykoff was assigned the Clairol campaign, hair dye was not considered to be something used by genteel women.
