As I mentioned earlier, the camera was fairly easy to use and the accompanied manual is definitely worth a read if it is your first experience with a DSLR. I, being a beginner myself, went through it to get up to speed with all of the camera’s features. After that, it was just a matter of practice, and within a couple of hours I was able to capture some fairly decent shots in good lighting conditions.

Overall, the Canon EOS 3000D is a great DSLR for beginners and something I would recommend at its price point. The camera offers video recording at 1080p on 30fps, but then that again is not ground-breaking. It’s suitable for some clips of your vacation or for basic YouTube videos. Single shooting, Continuous shooting, Self-timer with 10s or 2s delay and 10s delay with continuous shootingI do want to mention that all images were shot in RAW, where the images come out completely flat. There’s very little colour or contrast, just like the case should be when it comes to RAW files. Editing them in Adobe Lightroom really brings out the detail and depth captured by the 3000D’s sensor. The strongest point of the 3000D’s sensor is the way it renders pleasing skin-tones, especially considering the darker skin-tones we see in India. Another thing the EOS 3000D does well is the way it handles the colour green. The EOS 3000D sports nine phase detect AF points, in which one is a cross-type sensor for more accurate focusing. The autofocus performed well in our lab tests in bright light and even in challenging subjects. The Auto Lighting Optimizer comes with four different setting Off, Low, Standard, and Strong. It enhances the processing to even out the contrast and correct brightness. Only, it struggles in lowlight conditions, where we noticed noise in the shots. The message that appears on the screen differs depending on the computer's operating system or software installed in the computer, and also depending on whether the camera is being connected to the computer for the first time or has been connected previously.

If you're thinking about starting off with photography, the Canon EOS 3000D might be a decent option if you're on a very tight budget, but it does have its flaws like a very slow burst rate and poor high ISO performance. Performance

While the lens might be very basic, it’s perfect for beginners and can result in stunning images if used well. The lens offers 3x optical zoom, which can come in handy if you’re trying to get closer to the subject without losing any quality. The zoom and aperture rings on the lens are quite smooth and responsive, making it fairly easy to get used to.

Press the to select [Off] from the menu that appears, and then press the button again. As you can probably tell from the sample images attached above, the Canon EOS 3000D is a pretty good performer even when in the hands of a beginner. The camera’s 3fps burst also came in handy while I was trying to capture moving subjects. The EOS 3000D is also capable of shooting 1080p video at 30fps and 720p video at 60 fps. However, I wasn’t quite satisfied with the video quality and I would strongly advice you to use a tripod if you plan on shooting video with the camera.
