The fragrance has a "simple" structure, very much musk, vanilla, amber, white flowers and sandalwood. Nevertheless, the fragrance manages to smell extremely high-quality and creative, while delivering a really great H/S. Partly you really hear cherry, even if not officially listed. You’re left with a smooth creamy and slightly powdery nutty almond vibe with a hint of vanilla sweetness and subtle floral undertones. Blessed Baraka by Initio Parfums Privés (2015) is the muscular gym rat brother of Parfums de Marly Carlisle (2015) from the sibling house owned by the same parent company. Right away you will notice the link between the two if you have smelled both, but while Carlisle has some animalic tones and synth oud blended with tobacco to make it mysterious and masculine, Blessed Baraka seems to go for the throat with the synthetic macrocyclic musks seeking to emulate the sour musky lactones naturally occurring in real animalics, while also contradicting them with a clean barrage of tonka and white florals. This confusing mix of "I'm strong like an ox but gentle like a lamb" makes Blessed Baraka seem incredibly unbalanced and cheap-smelling, as if you were smelling a budget clone of itself rather than the real deal, but that's how it goes with this hit-or-miss luxury-tier perfume brand. I'm not loving this one, but overall opinions are about as disparate as they come for the stuff. Be careful not to overspray this one. You only need 1–2 sprays MAX or this could become annoying to others around you (it will fill a room!).

Absolute Aphrodisiac is more suited for the mature 25-up crowd and best worn in cool weather: fall & winter (avoid use in the high heat). Atomic Rose opens with a HUGE blast of rose with a pinch of sparkling bergamot citrus and pink pepper. Not like the usual cherry scents a la Lost Cherry, but rather boozy and dark. Also a nice dark spice is present. There is something dark and mystical about this opening in particular. It is pleasant, but not this typical crowdpleaser. This boozy note makes it special & unique, perfect not to smell like every 2nd in the "club". As it progresses it becomes more pleasing, even though there is not quite as much progression in this scent as most Initios. I like it well. As it progresses, the sandalwood note comes out well and convinces with a woody amber-vanilla-musk combo. The basic DNA of the opening but still resonates. Magnetic Blends focus on the future. Initio worked with a laboratory to synthetically reproduce the exact identical molecules of some of the perfume world’s most seductive natural elements (such as ambergris and deer musk).The Blessed Baraka is a really beautiful sweet-spicy musk fragrance, whose class lies in its simplicity and perfect balance. In every house there are the "hypes", at Xerjoff it is for example XJ 1861 Naxos , or Erba Pura , at PDM it is for example Layton . With Initio, from my point of view, it is the Side Effect, the Oud for Greatness or the Musk Therapy . Then there are fragrances - like the Blessed Baraka - which are fortunately and unfortunately not rightly in the shadow of the greats, the real "hidden champions".

Now, the star of the show is the rose, and as it dries down it’s joined with a hint of vanilla that leaves you with a beautiful fresh sweet peppery citrusy rose.

This is an EDP and projects nicely (just over arm’s length) for the first few hours leaving a gorgeous scent trail. Initio Parfums Prives are a fairly new French luxury niche perfume house that are making waves in the fragrance community. Initio Parfums use super high quality ingredients and collaborate with some of the world’s best perfumers to create their collection.On the whole for me already underrated and would have deserved more attention. Here is no perfumer registered, but believe this fragrance comes from Alberto Morrillas. Often frowned upon, but in the niche he does great work for me. This works well all year round, except in the high summer heat: special occasions, dates, work/office safe (spray lightly), casual, nights out, etc…

The fragrances come in beautiful bottles that have a soft rubber-like texture coating, adhered with their logo on the front (the name of each fragrance is engraved on the top of the cap). The brand’s name and name of the scent are engraved on the top of the cap. Don’t go crazy with the sprays. This is definitely a “less is more” type fragrance… 1–2 sprays MAX and you’re good to go.As the name suggests, this is a (unisex) rose based scent and contains a blend of natural Bulgarian rose and natural Turkish rose.
