About this deal

We would like to thank you for supporting Transformers the Definitive G1 Collection limited run. Your account has not been charged and we are enclosing some additional issues for you free of charge. Bonus material includes the lowdown on the (new) human cast and rare promotional posters for the Dawn of the Autobots event. Simon Furman on WordPress: "all the Dreamwave G1 material that saw print in single-issue form will be collected, including the rare Summer Special story, Welcome to the Jungle, and their ongoing G1 series"

Transformers/G.I. JOE: First Strike: Champions ( February 7, 2018) ISBN 1684051231 / ISBN 978-1684051236 Profile art from the Beast Wars Sourcebook: Vol 93 (Optimal Optimus) and Vol 94 ( Beast Wars Megatron)IDW banner for SDCC 2005 booth - and later re-used on 2006 as TF Infiltration variant cover!"— Guido Guidi on DeviantArt, 2006-12-08 The limited four-issue run has now come to an end, and we will be looking at the level of interest before making a decision about whether the collection will be launched nationally in the near future.

The Transformers: The IDW Collection Phase Two: Volume 8 ( December 5, 2018) ISBN 1684053722 / ISBN 978-1684053728 The stories which began the entire Transformers franchise, including the original 4-issue Marvel miniseries which first introduced the primary Autobots and Decepticons and set up their battle for supremacy on Cybertron and Earth. As noted, I tapped out of IDWverse with DoOP. Too far a departure from the Origin to LSoTW era that I found so captivating. To that end I have largely gone into reading these books, particularly as they are the initial arcs, with an unbiased and open mind. The Transformers: Robots in Disguise Volume 3 ( April 17, 2013) ISBN 1613776268 / ISBN 978-1613776261 Did I enjoy it? Not particularly. The initial arc "Liars A to D" was naff. The story involving Pharma was interesting , although there is a weird disconnect between the Ratchet of Infiltration and his Grandfather in this book. Shadowplay too was engaging, until the Prime fanwank took centre stage.

Set prior to the war between Autobots and Decepticons, Transformers takes place on a thriving, peaceful Cybertron that serves as an interstellar commerce hub. The era of peace is brought to an unexpected end, however, when the planet experiences its first murder in living memory. [1] Creative team The minor Marvel productions " The Night the Transformers Saved Christmas" and " The Special Teams Have Arrived" are absent—but of course, the latter was completely retold in UK #63-65, included here in volume 4. The former story's absence stands out, since, in his panel at TFNation 2016 Simon Furman specifically mentioned that it would be included in the collection, the first time it would have seen a reprint anywhere, but this ultimately didn't occur, for unknown reasons. Whirl - I understand why he is visually different from the rest of the cast, being familiar with the history of his toy, and the way they tried to explain that away in Shadowplay was a nice touch. However, to me he is one of the worst characters in IDWverse, an Extreme 90's archetype that falls flat. So much so I think the book would have been better without him. Banners for San Diego Comic-Con 2005: Vol 19 (Megatron), Vol 64 (Starscream), and Vol 50 (Prowl) [30] Volume 3 presents UK #41-50 before US #11-12, when they should be the other way around. Apparently this was a deliberate decision to place focus on the UK story the volume was centred around! [5]

Collects Revolutionaries issues #5– 8, Hasbro Heroes Sourcebook #2: " Upgrade", Lost Light issues #8–9 & #10– 12, Optimus Prime issues #7–8 & #9–10, Transformers Annual 2017, and Salvation. An interview with James Roberts on how he worked his way up to become an ongoing writer, and character design sketches by Livio Ramondelli. The trial versions of issues 1 and 2 had the inside cover art swapped: the "Target: 2006" book had artwork for Stormbringer, and vice versa. [17]

Collects The Death of Optimus Prime, More than Meets the Eye issues #1– 3& #4– 5, and Robots in Disguise issues #1–5 & #6. The book is the rare Transformers-related thing not to have the Transformers brand appear on its front cover. In trade format however, it is Transformers: Optimus Prime, Volume 1. The Definitive G1 Collection: Volume 71: All Hail Optimus – cover art by Don Figueroa (Sky Lynx) and Livio Ramondelli (retro) Unfortunately, the US comics are very exposition-heavy and clumsily plotted by very much a B-Team of Marvel writers and the UK comics, whilst showing a little more subtlety in both their art and writing, feel almost like an off-brand copy rather than official content. None of the material released by 3H Productions or Fun Publications was printed in this collection.

Collects Combiner Hunters #1: "An Uneventful Night", The Transformers (2012) #55: "All Hail Optimus Part 6: No Fair Fights", Optimus Prime #9: "The Life of Sideswipe", Excerpt from Optimus Prime #21: "The Falling, Chapter 6: Unforgivable", The Transformers (1984) #224: "Aspects of Evil!", and Transformers (2019) #18: "Arcee/Greenlight: Run".Besides which, until now, Rewind has almost exclusively been portrayed as an adjunct or underling of Blaster, rather than a character in his own right. Personally I think it was great that he was able to shine and be something more than simply a non-entity. I do wish this Serpent-OR/Serpentor Prime design did exist as a figure. Not just a redeco of a bad Scourge design. Then again, this series had a lot of really cool designs.
