About this deal

Lucas,” she says, surprised. She’s wearing a dressing gown hanging open over her bikini. “What are you doing here?” This is Beth O'Leary at the height of her powers. Hypnotically good, fresh, fun and moving, with one-liners that made my sides hurt, characters I want to take out to dinner, and one of the best endings I've read in some time. This is not just a great rom com, this is a Beth O'Leary rom com, and in my opinion there is no better writer out there - Gillian McAllister An utterly delicious read. Amazing chemistry, characters to fall in love with, and all that Beth O'Leary magic. Irresistible." - Louise O'Neill

A lifetime of duty Widowed at just seven-and-twenty from her marriage of convenience, Eliza, now Countess of Somerset, is bequeathed a fortune, hers to keep – provided she can steer clear of scandal. Witty, clever and full of heart―Beth O’Leary has done it again with TheWake-Up Call. I adored this cast of characters and had so much fun with them. This is escapist fiction executed perfectly, I loved it.”―Laura Kay, author of Wild Things The palpable chemistry between Izzy and Lucas, along with their witty banter, completely engrossed me in their love story. Izzy's vulnerability in opening up her feelings after being crushed by Lucas' rejection a year ago, and Lucas' efforts to make her fall in love with him, his patience, and his inner sweetness made me sigh and smile countless times.I struggled a lot with Izzy’s often immature behaviour and responses to things happening around her, but I absolutely ADORED Brazilian-expat and gentle-giant Lucas, and the way he yearned for Izzy to see him in a different light. I also loved the wider cast of quirky characters who made up the other staff and long-term residents of the hotel, as a full cast of great characters always goes a long way for me.

Beth O’Leary has become a must-read author, with rom-coms like The Flatshare and The Road Trip at the top of our favorites list. She follows suit with The Wake-Up Call.” ―Country Living As their bitter rivalry turns into something much more complicated, Izzy and Lucas begin to wonder if there's more at stake here than the hotel's future. Can the two of them make it through the season with their hearts intact? Beth O’Leary never misses. The Wake-Up Call bursts with Beth’s signature heart, wit, and charm, topped with sizzling enemies to lovers banter. Brimming with palpable warmth and depth of character, this one is for the hopeless romantics in all of us.”—Amy Lea, internationally bestselling author of Exes and O’s Playful, warm, uplifting, and so very satisfying. O’Leary has a gift for taking the reader to a place so full of joy, we never want to leave. Just lovely.”―Caroline Hulse, author of All the Fun of the Fair And, when the first is returned to its grateful owner, and the hotel is given a substantial reward for their efforts, Izzy and Lucas, wager a friendly(?) competition to see who can successfully return the most rings. The chemistry between the two characters was off the charts. And I loved the other side characters as I already said. As with many romance novels, this entire story wouldn’t even exist had Izzy simply asked Lucas “WTF?!?!?!?!?!” when she caught him mistletoe-ing her friend at the annual Christmas soiree. But, of course that didn’t happen so you get to spend the majority of the novel being frustrated until you get to the big “ohhhhhhhh, so that’s why” at the very end. An utterly delicious read. Amazing chemistry, characters to fall in love with, and all that Beth O'Leary magic. Irresistible - Louise O'Neill

And I wish that the hotel was a real place, cause it sounded like a place I would stay at one done.fell in love with Izzy, who is adventurous, original, shiny, creative, optimistic, and kind-hearted! And let's not forget about our brooding hero, Lucas, who hides behind a stubborn, serious, robotic facade, despite being a real cinnamon bun. He's caring, sensitive, and a romantic planner! The Wake-Up Call follows Izzy and Lucas, a pair of rival receptionists who work at the same foundering hotel. When Izzy takes it upon herself to return a lost wedding ring to a guest, she’s rewarded with a sizable chunk of change — change that the hotel desperately needs. So after realizing there are a few more lost rings that’ve yet to be reunited with their owners, Izzy and Lucas reluctantly team up to do just that, hoping to earn enough to keep the hotel afloat. They’re also betting they can play nice for long enough to finish their mission — easier said than done.
