About this deal

I started selling them in craft fayres and found I was making quite a bit of money and I started to think that I might actually be able to make a business out of it. Thank you for the fast delivery and I hope you take my comments into account, I would have loved to give you a higher rating. The Green one is a Miss Patisserie Bath Fizz, that had a stunning rich floral scent to it, you could literally smell it all over the house afterwards (my mum then nabbed the other half of the ball so she could have a bath in it too, it smelt so good). It wasn’t one of their flower bath balls it simply had a few of the petals on the top, so there wasn’t too many flowers in my bath, but the scent really wowed. This one didn’t fizz like the purple one, so it was more of a clear bath. I had learned about aromatherapy but couldn’t work for a while when I broke my leg and I didn’t want to sit around doing nothing. So I used that time to experiment in the kitchen and I found I really loved it. I’ve always been creative but I didn’t really know what I wanted to do after studying art in London.

Charlotte, who is launching her new Miss Patisserie Bath & Body unit in Penarth Road this week, did lots of research on the internet to glean ideas for her products, as well as poring through books and online forums to find out what people wanted. Bath Crumble has been created using natural, vegan, cruelty free ingredients and softens the bath water using essential oils which also soften your skin. The colours inside include blue, pink, purple, yellow and more, and you never know what rainbow of a bath it’s going to create. The colours are so, so pretty! Find it here

She also attended various courses and classes on how to make soap, as well as how to create products with beautiful, exotic fragrances and nourishing butters and oils, all of which are made in the UK and not tested on animals.

She loved learning about different fragrances and oils so when she found herself at home, recovering from a broken leg, she bought a craft kit from Hobbycraft and made her very first bath bomb. Our most popular product is probably the cupcake bath bomb, which looks like a cake and is in two parts. The top part is a body wash made from sugar and the bottom half is the bomb that explodes in the bath. The original craft kit was very basic. It just had the materials with a ball and star shape and I started to make things which were a bit more appealing. It was when cupcakes were starting to get very popular again and so I made some in those shapes as well as doughnuts and macaroons.”

I find that some bath bombs can be a little oily once they fully disperse into your bath water, or leave an oily residue in your bath, but none of the Miss Patisserie ones I have tried so far have done this. They are smooth and clear, and leave nothing behind on the bath (well maybe a few petals from the floral ones, but that is to be expected).

The Purple one is the Miss Patisserie Detox egg and it smelt totally amazing. It is a fizzing bath bomb, so gave the bath a little frothiness on the surface, which released the scent into the air even more, but didn’t create huge bubbles. Plus this one is made with Cocoa butter which leaves your skin nice and soft afterwards, I literally didn’t feel the need to use body cream after the bath.

Top 5 Bath Bombs

Bath bombs come in various sizes, ranging from about 1.5 ounces to roughly 7 ounces. With smaller fizzies, you may need to use two or three per bath, whereas larger options offer a hefty dose of cleansers, skin softeners, and aromatherapy.

Joshua Ross is an esthetician and celebrity facialist with over 15 years of industry experience. He is also the founder of SkinLab, a Los Angeles beauty boutique specializing in non-surgical cosmetic rejuvenation. What to Look for When Buying Bath Bombs IngredientsSome of you will remember that during our first month of blogging we introduced you to a local beauty company called Miss Patisserie ( post here), and they gave us (well me!) a pile of their products to try out. And thats what I have been doing over the past few weeks. Today I have got a review of their purple detox egg and green bath fizz, but I will say that all of the product I have tried of theirs so far have been amazing! I literally love my bath being coloured, I am like a child in that sense, and as you can see both of these bath bombs had my bath water turing a cool bright colour. When browsing bath bombs, be sure to look carefully at the ingredients list. As Ross explains, they combine wet and dry components to cleanse the skin. "In addition, they could include softening agents, which will make your skin feel extra soft after a bath," he notes. It’s something I’ve built up since creating that very first one in my kitchen in Penarth Marina and once I started I just couldn’t stop. I’ve found something I’m rather obsessed with. I love creating new smells and designs and five years on, I’m so pleased I popped into Hobbycraft that day. I fell into it really but I’m absolutely loving it and I’ve gone from just me in my kitchen to having a staff of eight in our new unit.
