About this deal

We always do our very best to achieve our stated delivery times but please note we can not be responsible for circumstances beyond Tanners control including, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions and supplier and carrier difficulties. Delivery to other areas - additional charges Fruity, nutty, sherried profile. What’s not to like about this? Some might say the proof (120), but that’s easily fixed with a splash of water if it’s too much. Others might say the price, but then all whisky is expensive these days, and it’s only getting more so. So I ask again… what’s not to like? George, son of John, is the sixth generation of the family and the company's Brand Ambassador. George joined the family business in 2000 after working for another Scotch Whisky Distiller, and the Glenfarclas distributor in Hong Kong; Fine Vintages (Far East) Ltd. George is passionate about Glenfarclas and particularly enjoys introducing whisky lovers to the older expressions of Glenfarclas, those distilled by his grandfather and watched over by his father. Deliveries are normally between 09.00 and 17.00 Tuesday to Friday and a signature is required on receipt of delivery. (We do not ship on a Friday for Monday delivery unless specifically requested to do so).

Again lots of sherry hits you off the bat with some stolen and fruit cake, some dried fruits and almonds. it is Christmas in a glass essentially! There is a slight rye spiciness to it which is very enjoyable. A slight sprinkle of very dark chocolate at the end to round it off. Very enjoyable. Finish Upon the first sip, the whisky unveils its character: dry and assertive, it swiftly evolves, revealing a luxurious spiciness that harmonises perfectly with a subtle touch of oak Whiskybase B.V. (“Whiskybase”, “we” or “us”, company details below) offers a whisky enthusiasts online platform that provides its members access to the most comprehensive, transparent and trusted resource of whisky bottles and allows and stimulates its members to contribute information about whisky bottles to the platform (“Service”).The sherry really peaks through here in a way that makes me think of all the great, old, Glenfarclas I’ve enjoyed. With Water: A few drops of water give this some of the sweetness that it’s yearning for, and freshens some of the fruit. It lessens the tongue burn very slightly, and adds a little vanilla frosting to the finish. Water is decidedly not a bad idea with this whisky.

The distinctive taste of Glenfarclas single malt Scotch whiskey is down to the traditional distillation methods that have evolved from the Grant family’s 150-year association with whiskey production, using the crystal clear spring waters that bubble up from the slopes of Ben Rinnes. Lots of sherry on the nose with some Christmas cake, a hint of watermelon and some macadamia nuts. It is not overwhelming despite the high proof. Taste There it is combined with the finest malted barley, twice distilled in traditional, direct fired, copper pot stills and only the lightest and best fractions of alcohol are collected to be filled into the finest Spanish Sherry oak casks and lie maturing over many years.Glenfarclas describe their whisky as ‘Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky’ which might confuse some when they learn that the distillery is actually located in Ballindalloch in Speyside – traditionally the Highland region embraced what is now delineated as Speyside and, deep-down, Glenfarclas is still a very traditional distillery. These old time values still have some modern day benefit for whisky lovers - Glenfarclas bottings present unfussy low-key branding which eschew the current trend for marketing-driven label twaddle.

Despite its strength, this whisky is wonderfully warming, leaving a lingering spiciness that is beautifully rounded. Indulge in the extraordinary with Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength. Discover a whisky that pushes boundaries and delivers an unrivaled taste experience. Are you ready to embrace the power? Nose: Unfilled sherry casks; damp clay tilth; red peppers; cashew nuts; currants; fudge; dark honey; vetch; pie crust; stewed strawberries; lively young spirit (don’t inhale too deeply without adding a little water). The introduction of water dials up the “low end” of the spectrum, giving more of a dried fruit impression with figs, dates, and raisins. In time, a hint of lambskin (leather) emerges. John and George Grant take over and form The Glenfarclas-Glenlivet Distillery Co. Ltd with the infamous Pattison, Elder & Co. Experience the true power and intensity of Glenfarclas with our 105 Cask Strength single malt. Bottled at an impressive 60%, this exceptional whisky offers a tasting journey like no other. Prepare your senses for a complex and captivating experience. Comments: The ten year is not my favorite whisky in its class, but it isn’t bad either. I would certainly rank it above quite a few mid-priced blends. I was tempted to try the sample with ice, but I’m just not an ice type of guy, so I couldn’t bring myself to do it. This said, I think it would be delightful on ice for those who enjoy a chilled glass of whisky. FINAL SCORE: 83/100
