About this deal

The ongoing narrative of Warhammer 40,000, with galaxy-shaking implications for the Imperium as the Lion and his sons battle to foil Vashtorr’s designs The Leagues of Votann are the newest faction to join Warhammer 40,000, and so are the perfect subject for our latest Commemorative Series miniature – The Ancestors’ Wrath. This spectacular Einhyr Champion is tremendously sturdy, and is an excellent addition to any Warhammer collection. Please note that this model will only be available until 8am GMT on Monday the 6th of November. Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader – Print on Demand Clad in bulky exo-armour with a rune-etched RAM shield and Autoch-pattern combi-bolter, the Einhyr Champion leads the charge with impunity. Alongside him are five elite Einhyr Hearthguard, plus a squad of Cthonian Beserks, brandishing powerful mining tools that double as weapons of war, and ten Hearthkyn Warriors armed with a variety of powerful hulk-scouring wargear. Known as Living Ancestors, the Grimnyr use strange barrier tech to manipulate the immaterium and manifest deadly psychic powers. They are among the few privy to the Votann themselves, deciphering their wisdom and acting as something of a priesthood to their Kinbands.* Einhyr Champion There’s also no mention of the League of Votann’s defensive Void Armour in the article. Absence of evidence isn’t evidence of absence, so the rule might still be in the game, but it would make sense to remove it, given the reduced armour penetration of most weapons in 10th edition.

Kahl: B Tier: His unit buff is good, as is his ability to throw a Judgment token on something. The issue is, he can't lead anything that particularly wants his buff (it's not super worthwhile on Warriors and it's potentially counter-synergistic on Hearthguard with the volkanite guns, as Lethal Hits don't do dev wounds). Probably worth taking one with an enhancement of some kind, though. An inspiring showcase of photography and battle scenes, featuring the armies fighting on the planet of Wyrmwood The Leagues and Guilds guard many secrets fiercely, but they’re nowhere near as xenophobic as the Imperium: indeed, the Seran-Tok Mercantile Leagues have made a fortune trading with the T’au. The Arks of Omen have sown terror and death from one side of the galaxy to the other. Despite the efforts of those who opposed them, their masters have gathered enough arcane artefacts for Vashtorr the Arkifane to fashion his monstrous Key. The hour draws nigh when the daemon and the Despoiler will between them awaken this engine of terrible power. Otherwise, read on for everything you need to know about the Leagues of Votann – here’s what’s included:If a unit with any Judgement tokens is removed from the battlefield (e.g. because it embarked on a TRANSPORT, is entering Strategic Reserves, etc.) make a note of how many Judgement tokens it had when it was removed. If that unit is set up on the battlefield again, place the corresponding number of Judgement tokens next to it again. The Leagues’ key outriders, the Hernkyn Pioneers ride to war on hovering motor-trikes, toting shotguns, saddlebags and sweet dustcoats. Theycome in squads of three, with one of the trio carrying a choice of medium-heavy gun. Here is a size comparison with a few other 40k infantry models. Hearthkyn Warriors are not so big after all, and with their 28mm bases scale well with humans and Primaris Space Marines. They’re also about the same height as Duardin models from the Age of Sigmar range, Hearthkyn maybe stand a little bit taller because of their leg poses.

The good news is Votann absolutely chew through hordes. We have blast on all of our best shooting units – Grav Thunderkyn rinse through chaff units and even marine type bodies fairly happily, and the sheer volume that Hearthguard put out will decimate large squads of light infantry. All of our heavy vehicles boast decent volume shooting alongside their main guns, so as long as you focus your fire you will have little issue hoovering entire hordes of Tyranids or Cultists off the board. Make sure to start plenty on the board into these sorts of armies, as they can easily screen out your reserves. How Does This Faction Handle Enemy Tanks and Monsters? Boarding Patrol: Leagues of Votann provides a balanced force of technologically advanced warriors, ideally suited to claiming resources and victory in games of Warhammer 40,000 – especially in the dense and deadly Boarding Action missions detailed in the Arks of Omen series – and will save you money compared to buying the kits individually. The unit leader Theyn can be equipped with an auto-pattern bolt pistol, ion pistol or EtaCarn plasma pistol as well as a concussion gauntlet, plasma axe or plasma sword. Leagues of Votan Hearthkyn Warriors sprue 3, included twice Hernkyn Pioneers: S Tier: These guys provide mobility and better shooting than most expect, and are great for scoring positional secondaries like Engage on all Fronts. Their scout move coupled with their high movement speed lets them get in your opponent's face early in pressure builds, and they are tough enough to withstand most small arms, meaning your opponent will likely have to point real guns at them to remove them.
