The loaded is a decent line but it's less supply, takes a set (coiling), and doesn't deal with twist as well as the standard XT imo.

I want a bit of a workhorse line, don't need to cast too far, needs to be tough, and not get all twisted up so hydro tuff 15lb fits the bill.. arrived today, looks nice off the spool. What reminded me of this line was fishing with my father in law last weekend and I was helping him out as he doesn't fish that often. Of course! As with all lines, ignore the BS and go by the diameter. I’ve used the .38 rated as 15lb in the UK. Will clearly break much higher than 15lb but does behave well for a .38 line and I found it to be tough and cast pretty well for a heavy-ish mono You just get people recommending what they use and they have no idea of the properties of what they are using. If it's pretty clear of obstructions then the 12lb is lovely, this year had to step up to 15lb xm because of zebra mussels, it's quite wiry but is very tough.Can anyone advise if the .30mm / 16lb is a reliable breaking strain rather then over rated (not as strong as 16lb)? Interesting about the CM90, I’m on the Trent which is low and clear and I can’t buy a bite in the daytime, not a single one in 9 days this season.
