About this deal

Get into the festive spirit and read on to discover our favourite Christmas gins for 2020… 1. Snow Globe Gin – Orange & Gingerbread Gin Liqueur

In it there are notes of chocolate, festive spice and cherry. It has been created with dried orange, grapefruit peel, cinnamon and nutmeg, as well as gin-soaked berries and cherries. This gin is best mixed with cola or hot chocolate and it is ‘best shared with loved ones after dark.’ How cosy, and festive. Warner's Gins have been recognised with numerous awards from prestigious international competitions, a testament to their exceptional quality. These accolades have helped Warner's to build a strong reputation in the competitive gin market. Towards the end of the evening, cream the butter and brown sugar together until you get a pale, light and fluffy textureThe label tells me it is loaded with so much festivity and was inspired by ‘mum’s traditional Christmas cake.’ Mummy elf makes a great Christmas cake, so I guess that reassured me. Warner's Gin has a strong focus on sustainability. The company is involved in various conservation efforts, such as their "Falls Farm" initiative, which aims to increase biodiversity and protect the British countryside. They have also established beehives to support pollination and contribute to the protection of the British bee population. With this in mind, we’re taking a look at Warner’s recently released Limited-Edition Christmas Cake Gin – and on first impressions it looks and sounds absolutely fabulous! Photo: Warner’s Distillery

This is the original Christmas gin, first produced by the distillers at Sacred Spirits in Highgate, London in 2010. The gin is made by macerating a Christmas pudding for three months, before being cold-distilled with juniper. The pudding is based on a family recipe of Sacred founder, Ian Hart. The gin has crisp, classic juniper on the nose with a rich, fruity spiciness. The texture is exceptional, accompanied by light buttery notes, vine fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar, before an elegant, dry finish. This is a lovely all-rounder, but particularly superb in a Martini made with gin poured straight from the freezer. Whether you want something to add oomph to a mulled punch, a soothing spirit for a hot gin toddy, or a festive swap for your gin and tonic or Negroni go-to, the gin world has plenty of seasonal specialities at the ready. We have sampled a few of this season’s offerings to give you a sense of the variety on the market and, perhaps, introduce you to a new favourite. Serve over ice with cola and a slice of orange, or if you are feeling fancy, it’s out of this world in a velvety hot chocolate or game-changing Espresso Martini. Warner's Gin represents the epitome of the craft spirit revolution, with a firm grounding in agricultural tradition, environmental stewardship, and a passion for creating high-quality, innovative gins. Their focus on sustainability and community engagement further enhances their brand, setting them apart in a market that values authenticity and eco-consciousness. As they continue to develop new products and initiatives, Warner's remains a beacon of British craft distilling, celebrated for its contribution to the gin industry and its commitment to the environment and local heritage.

I was a confused little elf for a moment. There I was with my elf nose sniffing a bottle of gin, and all I could smell was fruit cake. But there was no fruit cake to be seen! With warming spices and the sweetness of dried fruit, this gin was made with the producer’s mum’s Christmas cake recipe in mind . As well as being heavily infused with winter spice and dark chocolate, it is also cask aged to really deepen the flavours. Then a final blend with cherry juice and this gin is ready to go; sweet, rich and full of all the flavours you recognise. That’s a strong line-up of ingredients (the only thing missing is Father Christmas, basically?) that is sure to excite fellow elves. The countdown to Christmas has begun, and if you’re looking for the perfect festive tipple to enjoy all December long, look no further- as we’ve put together a list of the best Christmas gins for 2020!

Taking its name from an alternative moniker for Christmas pudding, Tarquin’s Figgy Pudding Gin sees its Cornish Dry Gin infused with dried figs, clementine zest, Christmas spices and blow-torched, brandy-soaked cherry wood chips. On the nose, it conjures up the image of a steamed pudding with alcohol-soaked fruits and dark-golden caramel. The palate is syrupy but beautifully light and not too sweet, with notes of dates and figs in syrup, powdered ginger and cinnamon, and buttery cake batter. Tarquin’s suggests enjoying the gin in a Festive Fig-roni, or paired with ginger ale for a longer drink; for optimal enjoyment, find a comfy chair in front of a roaring fire! This limited edition festive gin from Warner's is inspired by the founder's mother's very own homemade Christmas cake!

Warners Christmas Cake Gin (70cl, 40%). Formerly known as Warner Edwards. Inspired by Warners mum’s traditional homemade Christmas cake. Sweet, rich & syrupy. Warner's Gin, formerly known as Warner Edwards, is a British distillery that has made a significant impact on the craft gin scene since its inception. The distillery is nestled in the heart of England on a family-run farm in the quaint village of Harrington, Northamptonshire. It was founded in 2012 by two friends, Tom Warner and Sion Edwards, who shared a passion for farming, conservation, and high-quality spirits. Like I said, it’s a dark one and it feels heavy when you drink it (maybe that’s the cola rather than a tonic?), so consider that if you’re after something more refreshing. The production process at Warner's is driven by a commitment to quality and craftsmanship. The distillery uses traditional copper stills, which are essential for achieving the subtle balance of flavours in their gins. They employ a one-shot method for distillation, which means that the concentration of the gin coming out of the still is not altered. This method is more labour-intensive and costly than others, but it is central to the premium quality of Warner's products.

This a dark gin but it’s just how a good Christmas gin should taste.Combining, arguably two of England’s finest preoccupations- a nice slab of cake and a glass of gin, comes this warming tipple from Warner Edwards Upon waking in the morning put mixed fruit, fruit zests, fruit juice and cherries in a large bowl and add the Warner's Sloe Gin, stir and cover with a plate then leave to soak until the evening.
