About this deal

I like novels where a multitude of different threads, some hidden, twist together to a surprising conclusion. This is one area where I think I’ve, for the most part, done a good job in the past. Working on The Wheel of Time, however, I was able to see Robert Jordan’s hand in new ways—and see how delicate he could be with some of his plotting and characterization. I worry that sometimes, I beat people over the head with a character’s goals, theme, and motivations. It’s because I feel a character with well-defined motivations is one of the hallmarks of a strongly written story. For hours, the wind blew — making what would have been called tradewinds in another Age — twisting between whitecaps and dark, mysterious waves. Eventually, the wind encountered another continent, this one quiet, like a man holding his breath before the headsman's axe fell.

has three points of view, two of which are from Perrin Aybara's POV. His first is 19% of the chapter and his second is 57% of the chapter. By the time the wind reached the enormous, broken-peaked mountain known as Dragonmount, it had lost much of its strength. It passed around the base of the mountain, then through a large orchard of apple trees, lit by early-afternoon sunlight. The once-green leaves had faded to yellow. In a review of the audio book, AudioFile magazine were positive, saying the narrators bring "intensity and passion" to the series. In the foreword, Sanderson states that they can be thought of as "the three volumes of A Memory of Light or as the final three books of The Wheel of Time. Both are correct." He also comments on the differing writing style, suggesting that it could be compared to different film directors directing the same script. [1] The Gathering Storm consists of a prologue, 50 chapters, and an epilogue.

Towers of Midnight - Chapter 11_57 - An Unexpected Letter-683452763 Towers of Midnight Audiobook - TWOT Book 13 I also understand that "bubbles of evil" are hitting the "Wheel of Time" world with greater regularity. But going into great detail as though these episodes are integral battle scenes is like hitting the pause button and trapping the plot line in freeze-frame mode.Towers of Midnight - Chapter 39_57 - In the Three-fold Land-683452238 Towers of Midnight Audiobook - TWOT Book 13 Towers of Midnight - Chapter 48_57 - Near Avendesora-683452061 Towers of Midnight Audiobook - TWOT Book 13 Men did not whisper that this might be the end of times. They yelled it. The Fields of Peace were aflame, the Tower of Ravens was broken as prophesied and a murderer openly ruled in Seandar. This was a time to lift one's sword and choose a side, then spill blood to give a final color to the dying land.

Three men from an inn join Lan and Bulen as they ride. Byar tells Galad about Perrin’s murder of two Whitecloaks and Byar’s belief that Perrin is a Shadowspawn who brought the Trollocs to the Two Rivers. Galad declares that the Whitecloaks must bring justice to him. Gaul informs Perrin that the Whitecloaks hold Gill’s people captive, but have a smaller army with no channelers. The title can be taken as a literal reference to the The Towers of Midnight fortress-complex in Imfaral, a city in Seanchan, which has thirteen towers and is thus a reference to the number of the book. It is also a reference to a part of the Prophecies of Shadow, after the Epilogue, which mentions the Towers of Midnight, mostly in regards to Perrin Aybara. A wind blows over Seanchan, which is in chaos with a murderer ruling in its capital. Near Dragonmount, farmer Almen Bunt wonders what to do with his dying crops. Rand appears, calm and confident.
