About this deal

Also i liked that after some point we got also Elias's POV. It was necessary for his voice to be heard as well... Top Shelf Romance represents the best of the best in romance. There are no cliffhangers. These are simply must-read novels for readers looking for the best in happily ever afters. I’d never wished for much. I’d always been the kind of person who went along with whatever life threw at her.”

As I observe the serene atmosphere, I realize that this summer holds a different energy, a departure from the scandalous tales of the past. The absence of the usual excesses and commotion leaves a void that piques my curiosity. What has changed in Prince Elias’s world? What secrets lie beneath the surface of this newfound calm? As I reconnect with the place I once called home, I can’t help but wonder what lies ahead, as this summer promises a departure from the familiar tales and unveils a new chapter in Marbella’s story. About The Author You’ve heard of these groups – the secretive ones that only the crème de la crème are invited into, the ones outsiders speculate about for centuries – I’m the second in my family invited to attend, but to them, I’m fresh meat. New blood. New money, too.

The Sinful King

I liked how the things were developing between Elias and Adeline... even though it hurt sometimes... It starts off innocent enough, just flirting, but then she kisses me and tells me she wants to spend one night with me. For all my grievances, I will say that the epilogue was lovely. I loved that Elias bowed to her at their wedding ceremony, with the whole world watching, and his final quote:

Enter the world of dark mansions and mysterious heroes. The notorious Morelli family hosts their annual Christmas ball. And you are invited to experience the sensual feast... In The Sinful King, we have Elias’ story, the future king, his path is set. And one night with Adeline changes all of that. A woman he can’t really have or have a future with. But there’s something more between them, it’s undeniable, so how will they make it work? I absolutely loved this story. It is PURE ROMANCE in every single way. It is what we hope for, a love that conquers all, that endures, and that makes us better people. I truly get swept away in their courtship, and the grand gesture is the stuff of HAPPILY EVER AFTERS. From the royal romances that I’ve read, I’ve generally loved every single one of them. But this one really gives it all on the emotions. I was not expecting that at all and it might be one of the most emotional books I’ve read by Claire, well maybe after the Hearts series. So, one night, when she was eighteen, she accompanied her best friend on one of their parties and there she met a mysterious but gorgeous man and she spent a night with him....I was starting to get irritated about the single female POV, but then at Chapter 25 I finally got Elias' POV. I was happy his thoughts were finally included, but would have preferred it happened much sooner. Addie was pretty truthful, not afraid to say what she was feeling. I liked that about her. She didn't hold stuff in and keep secrets. In the prologue we see how 18 year old Adeline meets a mysterious stranger at a summer party in her hometown of Marbella, Spain. some people felt the monarchy was antiquated. Those people thought Prince Elias should not acquire The Crown once his father passed away.”

Even though this story has all the elements of a classic fairytale with the prince making the common girl fall in love with him, it’s perfectly realistic with imperfect and fascinating characters. Claire Contreras is a New York Times Best Selling Author who traded her psychology degree to write fiction. Don’t worry, she still uses her knowledge on every single one of her characters. She’s a 2x Breast Cancer Survivor, who was born in the Dominican Republic, raised in Florida, and currently resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband, two adorable boys, and French bulldog. The Sinful king by Claire Contreras The Sinful King has been on my TBR for what seems like forever. I’ve been meaning to read it since it first released, but life happens and I kept pushing it aside. I actually read the novella first, which is Pillar’s story and I wanted to finally read the stories of her brothers, Elias and Aramis. In twelfth grade I faked an injury to avoid going to prom by myself. He took pity on me, dumped his original date and escorted me to the dance where the spurned girl dumped an entire pitcher of red punch over my head. I loved Elias and Adeline very much and their story was beautiful and in a way, romantic, even though there were obstacles that were standing between them... Yes, there is something between Adeline and Elias.... Something that is getting stronger with every encounter they are having...The Sinful King is one of the best royal romances I've read recently! It was the perfect stand-alone romance and I devoured it. The whole Spain-France thing was a bit weird. It didn't make sense. Why didn't the royal family summer in the South of France instead of Marbella??? And you can't drive to Versailles from Marbella in two hours. Or from Paris to the beach in Spain in two hours. I’ve had one date with him and I already felt myself unravelling. I couldn’t afford to be unravelled. I was in no state to fall in love with a prince, let alone one who would be king.’ Even though this story has all the elements of a classic fairytale with the prince making the common girl fall in love with him, it's perfectly realistic with imperfect and fascinating characters.

Ouch....mom was a bit harsh here - “In their court, you’re nothing but a jester, someone for them to befriend and then discard. Don’t forget that.”The relationship between Adeline and Elias is developed perfectly, spanning over the time and resulting in an authenticity between them that instantly feels more than simple lust. I could feel their undeniable chemistry, the longing, their passion and even sorrow. Their intense romance made my heart flutter and I needed them to be together just as much as they needed it themselves. Because so much of the story was told from Adeline’s POV, I didn’t feel like I really knew Elias. 🙁
