About this deal

Choosing a Bluetooth speaker requires you to know what version of Bluetooth it supports. The quality of the audio transmission and the distance between the phone and the Bluetooth device are determined by this criteria. For optimal audio quality, Bluetooth version 4.0 or above is often recommended. Battery life and charging We weren't surprised to discover that this thing is bassy – it's something JBL seems to revel in – but the lead guitar and vocals were never overwhelmed and generally there was a nice balance to the mix. If we're being totally honest, the JBL Boombox 2 doesn't sound much different to the original speaker, which we should probably have expected since JBL hasn't really changed much inside. JBL Boombox 3 and Boombox 2 have a design and construction quality that is comparable to each other. These are medium-sized, horizontally-positioned portable speakers. With a plastic top handle and a grip pad on top, you can hold it with one hand and carry it with ease. In terms of build quality, these speakers are up there. The speaker is encased in a cloth that is attached to a plastic base. Aside from a play/pause button and a volume button, the top of the loudspeaker has only mediocre controls, including a Partyboost button and a Bluetooth connectivity button. The speaker’s battery life and Bluetooth status may be seen via the LEDs at the bottom. There are no RGB lights included. What’s missing? A cable for the aux input would’ve been nice, and there’s no companion app, so no EQ adjustments can be made. There’s also no speakerphone functionality, which isn't really a surprise for a speaker this size, even if it’s common among smaller models.

Turn it up. Way up. Get the loudest, most massive JBL Signature Pro Sound on our most powerful portable speaker, the JBL Boombox 2. Monstrous bass you can feel To keep the party going while charging your phone, both speakers include built-in Power Banks. Connectivity featuresJBL Boombox 2 is less costly than JBL Boombox 3 in terms of pricing, though. According to my opinion, the JBL Boombox2 is a better option since it is less priced and has a better sound. FAQs Bluetooth, or wireless communication in general, is the cornerstone of those modern features we're talking about. For most of us, our phone, tablet, or computer is the main source of our music. Every single model we're looking at in this article features Bluetooth, so the boomboxes can link up to these devices and play the sounds you want. With every new generation of portable speakers it releases, JBL seems to release a new platform via which you can connect them. First, we had Connect, then Connect+ and now PartyBoost. While the connection range and stability have increased with each iteration of the technology, it’s not all good news. The three platforms are not compatible with each other so devices can only connect to other devices in their ecosystem. Sleek. Bold. Powerful. With its iconic grip handle and stylish side flares, Boombox 2 will turn heads wherever you take it. Crank up the fun with PartyBoost

The only difference is that the Bluetooth pairing and PartyBoost buttons have changed places – oh, and the horizontal row of LED battery indicator lights has been replaced with a more prominent vertical one. For those looking for something compact yet rugged, Ultimate Ears also produces the Megaboom 3, which will float in water, making it a top choice for pool parties. It’s less than half the price of the aforementioned options but doesn’t match their power. Overall, the JBL Boombox 2 is an impressive portable Bluetooth speaker that is perfect for outdoor events and occasions. Its powerful, well-balanced sound, long battery life, and convenient design make it a great choice for anyone who loves music on the go. Whether you’re at home, at the beach, or at a party, the Boombox 2 is sure to impress with its impressive sound quality and versatile design. The JBL Boombox 2 Specs All day long, the JBL Boombox produces massive sound and bass. According to the manufacturer, it has four different active transducers and 2 JBL bass radiators, resulting in a massive sound with powerful bass. It has two sound modes: an indoor mode that produces a richer sound with a deeper bass, and an outdoor mode that produces a louder bass sound with a longer runtime.

Another example of how JBL Connect+ can be used is to connect a JBL Boombox 2 to a JBL Flip 5 portable speaker. This allows you to create a custom sound system that combines the powerful, punchy sound of the Boombox 2 with the smaller, more portable design of the Flip 5. This makes it easy to enjoy great sound wherever you go and allows you to tailor your sound system to your specific needs and preferences. Sound Performance JBL maintained the IPX7 rating, so the Boombox 2 is well suited to being around splashing water and rain. You could submerge it in clear water for up to 30 minutes, and it can even float, except it tilts forward, muffling the music into the water. Bluetooth also doesn’t travel well when submerged, so best to keep its water exposure to solid ground. On the surface of the speaker, beneath that handle are the controls and they’re pretty self-explanatory, with individual play/pause, power, Bluetooth pairing, volume up and volume down buttons. Alongside them is the PartyBoost button, which replaces the Connect+ button found on the original Boombox. The feature functions in exactly the same manner as Connect+: simply press the button and you can connect up to 100 (yes, you read that right: one HUNDRED) compatible speakers to each other should you so desire.

It’s easy to see how similar the Boombox 3 and Boombox 2 are in design. You’ll have a hard time deciding between them since they have more similarities than differences. A superior sound system is found in the JBL Boombox 3, which offers the ability to switch between two different sound systems, while the Boombox 2 still boasts deep bass. It’s better to use them outside than inside. It is possible to activate the Partyboost function on both of the Boombox devices. The Boombox 3 has an IP67 certification, which is higher than the IPX7 rating of the Boombox. The guts inside are equally familiar. You get two passive radiators on the ends with dual 20mm tweeters and two 4-inch woofers under the hood to pump out the big sound. It doesn’t look JBL used different components beyond the newer Bluetooth transmitter that we’ll get to later.
